Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Vice President (VP) of Finance who will be responsible for developing and directing the company's analytical, financial plans and policies. You will be responsible for processing the financial activities that maximize profits for our organization. You will analyze data in order to make strategic decisions about an organization's future, such as how much money should be invested into R&D or marketing or sales.

The VP of Finance will report on metrics to optimize our growth by understanding where efficiencies exist to maximize scalability throughout the year. VP of Finance responsibilities include overseeing accounting operations, gathering and analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports. Ultimately, you will work directly with the CEO of our organization to ensure our operations remain on track to hit our target goals.

This is a critical role as our company has grown by 300% year over year for the last three years and will continue to grow rapidly. Your first goal in joining the organization is to build a finance division that can scale with the company so do not apply if you have no experience in people operations (recruiting/hiring/people ops/leadership).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate analyses, summaries and reports of financial data on the operating progress of the company
  • Create a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting structure that includes a minimum cash threshold to meet operational needs
  • Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance proactively
  • Manage the company's compliance with local and federal regulatory matters
  • Partner with senior leaders to ensure the company hits revenue targets
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations
  • Develop the corporate fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partners and investors
  • Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal auditors etc.)
  • Retain constant awareness of the company's financial position and act to prevent problems
  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a VP of Finance or extensive experience as Director of Finance, or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance and other regulatory matters
  • Adept in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment
  • Partner with Chief Revenue Officer & Chief Executive Officer to establish and track revenue goals
  • Possesses critical knowledge of federal and multiple state tax laws as well as basic accounting issues
  • A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is preferred
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel and financial management software (e.g. Quickbooks)
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
