VP of Finance

We are looking for a VP of Finance. The VP of Finance is a new role to anchor the build-out of an internal accounting and finance team for Techmates Group. The VP of Finance will lead the efforts to migrate accounting systems to NetSuite, establish an accrual-based month-end close process, as well as strengthen monthly financial reporting and tracking against the annual budget. A successful candidate will be a detail-oriented accounting and finance professional with experience in both month-end close and financial planning & analysis that is willing to work in a hybrid in office / work-from-home environment.

What you'll be doing:

•  Strategic Financial Partner to CEO, Leadership Team & Stakeholders
• Talent Development & Team Building
• Accounting
  • Establish accrual-based month-end close process
  • Oversee client billing and collections process
  • Oversee payroll for full-time employees and contractors
  • Oversee Accounts Payable process
  • Track commission and bonus programs
  • Banking, Cash & Debt Management
  • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties across team
  • Facilitate annual tax filings by working with third-party tax consultants

• Financial Planning & Analysis
• Lead annual budgeting process along with regular forecast updates throughout the year
• Monthly variance reporting against budget and forecasts
• Work with human resources and business leaders to manage hiring
• Support leadership team in tracking and understanding progress against key performance indicators
• Support sales team with client pricing and profitability analysis

• Lead NetSuite accounting software implementation while working with third party implementation consultant

Your experience should include:

• A minimum of eight years of progressive accounting/finance responsibilities with experience in both month-end
• Close and financial planning & analysis
• Experience in service-based industries – consulting, marketing/advertising, legal, etc.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA strongly preferred
• Experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to interface with cross-functional teams and third parties
• Comfort in performing detailed day-to-day tasks as needed, as well as higher-level thought leadership
• Ability to operate in a high growth, entrepreneurial environment that is flexible and agile as business needs and goals shift

Hybrid Work Environment Expectations:

• Ability to commute to Oak Brook Terrace office on average less than 10 days per month
