WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the VP of Finance, you will be responsible for driving all finance activities at Thyme Care, including financial strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital management. In this role, you will be an integral member of Thyme’s Care’s leadership team, working closely with other functional leaders to drive Thyme Care’s overall success. This position demands a seasoned financial leader with a deep understanding of healthcare finance, ideally with value-based care experience. You will be responsible for developing and scaling the proper planning and strategy to ensure Thyme Care meets its headcount, product, and partnership goals as we grow.Â
- Build and lead a finance function capable of providing timely and actionable insights for company leadership in a high-growth environment
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with Thyme Care’s goals, focusing on optimizing financial performance within the Value-Based Care framework.
- Have finance accountability to the executive leadership team, the board, the Chief Business Officer, and the Chief Executive Officer.Â
- Lead the development, monitoring, and analysis of annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts, providing strategic insights to support informed data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and financial best practices.Â
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and analyses, providing transparent insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Shape our headcount plan and budgets to support high-impact capital allocation.Â
- Be an integral partner to the growth team as we sell our products and grow revenue through payer and strategic partnerships.
- Partner closely with Health Economics on underwriting models, revenue accruals, and contingency planning for risk-based contracts
- Partner closely with Operations on efficiently scaling Thyme Care’s tech-enabled services
- Refine financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, ensuring the financial infrastructure scales with Thyme Care’s growth.
- Support capital raise processes by creating related financial support and serving as a financial subject matter expert in external meetings
- Partner with third-party banks on treasury strategy for cash management
QUALIFICATIONSÂ
- Leadership experience in the finance function of a healthcare startup or a financial leadership role in a larger healthcare organization, such as a health plan.
- 8+ years of experience building complex financial models.
- Proven success in building and leading high-functioning teams.Â
- Demonstrated ability to address both strategic and operational elements of finance.
- Effective communication and presentation skills with board members.Â
- Track record of building strong relationships with technical teams.
- Success in driving external deals, securing venture capital, or making an acquisition.Â
- Deep understanding of financial regulations and compliance in the healthcare industry.Â
- Highly proficient in Excel or Gsheets and skilled in developing financial models.

As a provider of cancer care navigation, we recognize that those with cancer constitute a vulnerable population at risk of contracting COVID-19. As such, Thyme Care employees are expected to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, subject to conflicting laws and exemptions based on medical or religious objections.
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Thyme Care. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. In accordance with New York City law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York City is $210,000-$260,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location or at another level. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration so we allow some choice between equity and cash.
