VP of Operations

Starface is seeking a VP, Operations to oversee and scale our global omnichannel operations across our retail, DTC, and Amazon businesses. Reporting to the President, the VP of Operations will lead the operations team and oversee our supply chain, omnichannel operations, customer service, and logistics end-to-end. The VP of Operations will be responsible for directing Starface’s operational strategy to support significant growth in volume and distribution as well as fine tuning our processes and infrastructure to optimize for cost, performance, speed, quality, and growth. In this role, the VP is part of the senior leadership team and is expected to be an excellent cross-functional collaborator, company-wide communicator, and team leader.  

Location: Remote, occasional travel required. 

• Directly manage and drive performance of the operations team of eight including logistics, supply chain, planning, and customer service 
• Define, track, and report on KPIs and key metrics for Operations and drive team to meet business goals, in particular cost reduction goals
• Ensure Starface has high performing operational systems including demand and supply planning, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory management, shipping, and warehousing operations
• Oversee all negotiating, vetting, and management of shipping partners, 3PLs, and suppliers to optimize for performance, quality, and cost 
• Build out and maintain processes and infrastructure to ensure that we are optimizing for cost, performance, speed, quality, and growth
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence all channels
• Oversee and project manage the sourcing, implementation, and troubleshooting of operations platforms, software, and IT tools
• Coordinate cross-functionally to plan for ongoing and special projects including sourcing, forecasting, and inventory management 
• Oversee the successful onboarding of new retailers 
• Ensure specific customer service issues are addressed in the short term and ongoing issues are addressed for the long term  
• Oversee the collection of customer data and feedback to inform broader company strategy and decisions

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 8+ years of experience working in operations for consumer packaged goods
• 4+ years management experience  
• Strong leadership skills including a track record of managing successful, motivated teams and cross-functional collaboration 
• Thorough understanding of supply chain and operational concepts surrounding production planning, purchasing, inventory control, freight logistics, 3PL operations, and shipping/receiving
• In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems, database management, logistics systems, ERP, and EDI
• Experience with mass retail routing guides and operations compliance requirements
• Adept at strategic prioritization and decision-making, and balancing long-term business goals with short-term needs
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong communication and negotiation skills - both written and verbal
• Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong quantitative skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Netsuite, or similar platform
• Process-oriented and adept at creating new ones
• Experience working in a smaller, high-growth company

SALARY + BENEFITS

• Compensation includes a $185-200K base depending on level of experience, and includes bonus eligibility and company stock options.
