Job Description
About the Role
As VP of Risk Operations you head up Aspire’s Risk Operations department. You report to the COO and are part of Aspire’s leadership team.
What will you be doing?

Build and lead the risk operations teams currently composed of 5 teams and ~15 people

Lead the operations linked to the scope described above

Manage the software we use to manage risk: fraud management software reconciliation software and continuously look for new technologies to improve our capabilities and automate our operations

Design and maintain the policies processes programs.. associated to risk operations
-
Investigate document and escalate any incidents as well as suggest and align on remediative and preventive measures
-
Monitor and test the effectivity and resilience of rules processes policies programs and continuously improve them
-
Report on relevant metrics: Fraud rates Reconciliation rates SLAs volumes incidents automation rates cost etc.

Create align own the strategy to manage risks on daily basis across the company in a scalable and cost-effective manner including strategies to improve accuracy and hit ~100% automation levels

Work closely with relevant stakeholders - internal stakeholders like Finance Product or Compliance and external stakeholders like partners or regulators - to rally everyone around creating strong and effective practices across the company align on the strategy as well as short & long term action plans resolve incidents and identify and fill gaps as well as all of the above

Be the PIC and present the risk updates to Aspire’s Risk Committee

You are an experienced leader - Minimum 12 years experience; Track record in a leadership role in tech or financial services as well as in operations

You are a true owner - You are highly self-driven and take initiative all the time. You make things happen today versus tomorrow and are hands-on when needed

You can create articulate & execute your strategy - You understand the trajectory of the company and create & implement a strategy to bring it to the next level; You can prioritize tasks & targets in a highly unstructured environment

You can build a team - You are used to hiring A players and coaching your team and you understand how to address strengths and weaknesses and leverage new opportunities to uplevel the team

You can balance risk & business - You are able to make calls that balance risk and business objectives and are able to rally the stakeholders around them.
