Job Description
Protenus, a healthcare compliance analytics company based in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a senior-level sales executive to join our team. This role serves as a critical member of the Protenus sales team, responsible for bringing leading edge technology to security and compliance professionals in healthcare. Each VP of Sales collaborates with other senior sales team members to develop relationships with healthcare leaders, communicate the value of the Protenus platform’s market-shifting technology, and grow the Protenus customer base. This is a quota-based position that requires keen listening skills, thoughtful execution, and the ability to understand individual customer needs and successfully guide customers through the sales process.Â
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Effectively and succinctly convey the value of the Protenus platform to target accounts within assigned territory
- Manage long-term relationships with prospects and customers in assigned territory
- Build and maintain a fluency of big data technologies in the healthcare market
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities at conferences or trade shows when applicable
- Demonstrate the Protenus platform through online presentations, phone calls, and in-person customer meetings
- Work closely with marketing team and BDRs to qualify leads and opportunities quickly and effectively
- Set and execute strategy for growing Protenus’ footprint in assigned territory
- Manage account information across the sales lifecycle using Salesforce
- Anticipate and communicate potential sales risks, issues, or dependencies to senior leadership
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly pipeline and forecast goals as well as other defined objectivesÂ
- Position reports directly to our Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)
Key Qualifications, Skills or CompetenciesÂ
- 10+ years of professional experience in a SaaS sales role in healthcare, preferably in IT, compliance/risk, pharmacy, or data security solutions
- Demonstrated ability to develop and close new business opportunities with large healthcare IDNs in assigned territory
- Prior experience selling to compliance, risk, privacy, IT/IS, and pharmacy executives in large healthcare IDNs
- Prior training and experience leveraging The Challenger Sale preferred
- Ability to travel within assigned territory to industry events, trade shows, and in-person meetings with prospects
- Demonstrated experience with Health IT and ability to understand the intricacies of healthcare data and operational workflows
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to ask insightful questions and truly understand the needs of each individual customer
- Laser-like focus on company goals with a relentless desire to achieve team success
- Demonstrated ability to reach sales goals and produce high-quality resultsÂ
- Candidates who live and work in the assigned territory (Southeast) are preferred
