The Role

As the VP of Talent Acquisition you will be responsible for guiding and scaling the team, driving our global recruiting strategy, ensuring our recruiting practices are grounded in data and insights, and setting the vision for the future. Operating as a trusted advisor and recruiting expert to Apollo leaders, you will advise, optimize and iterate on existing processes to enable all hiring teams to be successful.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will lead the function with analytical rigor, a dedication to amazing candidate experience, inclusive hiring practices, and continue to build for scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, steer, and evolve a broad talent strategy that aligns with Apollo's priorities and that anticipates the needs of the business and growth.
  • Act as a key business partner to provide Apollo leadership with thought leadership on recruiting philosophy, process and tooling to meet business objectives.
  • Build, manage, coach, empower, and develop a high-performing geographically dispersed team hiring across multiple geographies.
  • Build out best-in-class recruiting engine and operating model complete with extensive knowledge base of all things sourcing, screening, and selecting the best candidates in the market.
  • Develop thoughtful organizational design and quantitatively driven processes to scale Apollo’s hiring.
  • Define and measure recruiting KPIs for the Talent team and consistently use a data-driven approach to drive initiatives, set appropriate metrics for the team, and to help execute on broader org-wide strategies.
  • Generate creative sourcing strategies and works closely with the team to develop the best approach for hiring world class talent.
  • Work to elevate Apollo’s employment brand in the market.
  • Review deliverables and team objectives on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to ensure team is set-up for success
  • Anticipate and minimize risks in all facets of the recruitment process and operating model.
  • Work cross-functionally to effectively develop plans and drive projects from root cause analysis through to deployment, effectively & on-time.

Qualifications:

  • Experience creating, driving, and evolving a global talent acquisition strategy that anticipates the business priorities and needs as we grow in scale and efficiency.
  • 12+ years of talent acquisition experience (technical, GTM, and G&A recruiting)
  • Deep experience building and leading high performing Recruiting teams as well as a passion for mentorship and seeing recruiters flourish.
  • Experience leading a 20+ person team, managing directors/managers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures. Comfortable partnering with senior leadership and management teams on hiring initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of the recruiting landscape across both tech and business roles.
  • Commitment to elite candidate experience.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, including humility, empathy, and playfulness with the ability to break down complex concepts and clearly articulate them internally and externally.
  • Analytical mindset and a track record of building robust data-driven recruiting teams and cultures.
  • Strong track record of effectively influencing, communicating, and building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
