Job Description

As a key member of the Executive team, you are a cross-functional partner, have a strong foundation and vision for next-generation e-commerce, a passion to serve our customer, and the ability to deliver and enact upon data insights. Your mission is to drive the technical vision and strategy for Huckberry to become the largest and most loved men's lifestyle brand in America.

The foundation is set: we have an incredible team, a highly customized platform, and very little tech debt. This is an ideal role for someone who is extremely collaborative across the business, has a passion for e-commerce, and a roll-up-your-sleeves leader who is results driven.

*This role is based in Austin, TX - open to remote for the right candidate

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical vision and strategy to achieve Huckerry's mission and vision
  • Lead 2 of 3 technical functions (ideally all 3) - Product, Data, and Engineering
  • Hire, mentor, and retain exceptional technical talent through individual goal-setting and development plans
  • Act as a strategic partner to e-commerce as well as functional leaders in Merchandising, Media, Marketing, and Ops to successfully execute our strategy
  • Drive customer-centric initiatives with best-in-class research, AB testing, and customer analytics to drive long-term customer value
  • Improve customer engagement by leveraging new technologies
  • Constantly innovate our tech stack, and evaluation/scoping for new integrations, projects, and features
  • Ownership of software and systems
  • Oversee budget and meet / exceed goals and KPIs

Requirements

  • 7+ years managing 2 of 3 technical functions: product, data, or engineering teams
  • 3+ years direct experience in e-commerce (physical product, not service)
  • Proven track record of hiring, developing, and mentoring technical talent
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across the company
  • Analytically minded with a proven track record of making data-driven decisions with AB Testing and customer analytics to drive value for the customer with tech
  • Proven track record of meeting strategic deliverables
  • Creative problem solver
  • Deep network to hire quickly when needed, research, and test ideas
  • Expertise in e-commerce best practices, as well as e-commerce business performance metrics

Bonus points if:

  • Speak and write our language: Ruby, JavaScript, Looker, dbt
  • Omni channel retail experience (POS in particular)
  • Digital media experience
  • Huckberry customer
