Position Summary
The Vice President, Operations will report to the SVP, Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Operations. This individual will be responsible for leading operations for the Cardinal Health Specialty business, as well as our National Logistics Center and our new Consumer Health Hub. This includes over 5 locations and over 700 FTEs and contract resources. Over 80% of the Pharmaceutical Segment's products flow through these locations, servicing customers directly as well as the Pharmaceutical Segment's forward operating distribution centers. The VP, Operations is responsible for building operations, EH&S, Operational Excellence (indirect) as well as significant customer interaction.
Accountabilities
- Provides leadership and direction for supply chain operations for multiple sites, including the National Logistics Center, Specialty Distribution, and the new Consumer Health Hub.
- Manages an organizational budget through aggressive cost controls and inventory management strategies
- Partner with the Vice President, Automation to stand up the new 350,000 sq/ft National Consumer Health Hub while improving service, driving productivity, and reducing inventory
- Approves significant policies and procedures that will result in the achievement of organizational goals
- Develops and implements functional and/or operational strategy
- Oversees operations spanning 24 hours per day and 7 days week.
- Decisions have a serious impact on overall success or failure on area of accountability and external stakeholders
- Interacts with all levels of internal and/or external leaders
- Influences senior level leaders regarding matters of significance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 10+ years' of supply chain leadership experience at a customer-centric organization preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work across a diverse set of cultures
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of Lean supply chain principles
- Comfortable leveraging and applying data to drive decision making
- Able to work cross functionally with SME's and partner teams to deliver on performance and financial commitments as we transform our supply chain
- Ability to travel 35%
- The role will be based in Columbus, Ohio; relocation support available
