Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Marketing Leader - Phillips 66 & Synchrony Car Care will lead the marketing relationship with P66 and a select number of Synchrony Car Care partners. This role will serve as the primary marketing contact with all levels of the Phillips 66 partner and will lead the development, sell in and implementation of marketing strategies at all points of the cardholder journey - including but not limited to digital, acquisition and lifecycle. This individual will work collaboratively with both the P66 General Manager, Synchrony Car Care Marketing COE, Analytics and partner organizations to deliver new accounts and sales.

The Synchrony/Phillips 66 relationship began in 2013. Synchrony supports the P66 consumer programs under 3 brands (Phillips 66, Conoco, 76), as well as a Business Revolving Card (BRC), with a heavy focus on delivering value through the P66 Mobile App and growing transaction volume through SYCC network.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Marketing relationship owner and primary marketing contact for P66 and select mid-market Synchrony Car Care client programs.
  • Establish, develop and nurture key relationships at senior levels of the partner organization as well as
  • the "day to day" counterparts.
  • Incorporate the client's key business objectives, strategic vision, and marketing calendar into the planning process to achieve objectives.
  • Monitor & manage performance of all key credit and marketing metrics vs. plan. Assist in the development of the Synchrony planning cycle including marketing planning, metric forecasting, Op Plan and PAR processes.
  • Own and manage the annual marketing budget.
  • Manage all aspects of the value proposition, including tracking industry trends, competitor's and customer experience metrics. Ensure program profitability and grow penetration through continued enhancements.
  • Drive program to effectively work in an omni-channel environment. Ensure digital assets are in place and optimized. Push for cutting edge thinking and integration in all partner properties.
  • Partner with the P66 General Manager to develop and deliver monthly and quarterly strategic program updates that drive discussion, support decision making and lead to overall enhancements.
  • Leverage analytics to identify and provide actionable insights to client; sell in strategies to P66 and provide measurement of all activities to determine success.
  • Develop and deliver strategies that create a strong competitive advantage differentiating Synchrony in the marketplace.
  • Be a thought leader for the internal Synchrony client team and the P66 team to deliver impact from applicant / cardholder experience improvements.
  • Perform duties and other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 9 years of B2B and B2C marketing experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of total marketing experience, preferably in the credit card, financial services industry or oil and gas industry, to include:

    • Marketing leadership experience with exposure to consumer-facing programs and products
    • Experience with digital channels - online and mobile
    • Highly effective working with cross-functional teams and external clients; able to negotiate and influence to define and deliver on priorities
    • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel as needed (~10-15%)

Desired Characteristics:

  • 7 years of total marketing experience, in the credit card, financial services industry and/or oil and gas industry
  • Prior experience in the Auto or Oil and Gas industry
  • Breadth of knowledge and experience in marketing B2C/B2B/B2B2C including experience in digital marketing and experience to drive adoption and usage.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services and payments industries highly preferred
  • Positive, high-energy attitude with a passion for digital and/or product marketing
  • You are in-the-know of all things cardholder experience and can speak well to the latest trends in experience including mobile, eCommerce, payments, etc
  • Enjoy a balance of strategic work with hands-on-implementation
  • Organized, resourceful and results driven; tenacity to get stuff done
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Can self-manage and work autonomously with a remote, dispersed team

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance requirement).

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
