Job Description

The VP of Alternatives Marketing, Private Debt & Private Equity Lead works alongside the Global Head of Alternatives Marketing, and the respective Heads of Client Marketing, to set product marketing strategy and objectives for Nuveen's private capital capabilities. This leader will be responsible for supporting capital raising efforts and acting as lead on product marketing for private capital globally.

Based in Nuveen's New York office, the role is a leadership position within the Alternatives Marketing team, with a dedicated focus on Nuveen's private capital businesses (including Churchill Asset Management and Arcmont Asset Management). Close collaboration with the U.K., Germany, Asia Pacific and U.S.-based marketing teams is required, helping to provide an integrated marketing approach.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops and leads product-specific marketing plans for a number of private capital strategies globally, including impact PE, PE co-investments, sponsor-backed middle market private credit, investment-grade private placements.
  • Oversees the creation and production of all private debt and private equity marketing collateral and functions as a global private capital marketing lead, ensuring materials are aligned with business' strategy and objectives.
  • Drives development and execution of integrated private capital product and thought leadership campaigns leveraging full suite of paid, earned and owned marketing levers, including digital, social, email, webinar, advertising, event, sales enablement, etc., in close alignment with client marketing partners globally.
  • Collaborates with brand, design, content, events, social, and digital teams to execute and measure marketing initiatives and ensure proper alignment of resources.
  • Partners with key stakeholders across product, investments and global client group teams as well as marketing colleagues to ensure competitive differentiation of products across collateral and campaigns, and continually leverage real-time learning to enhance materials to optimally support sales execution.
  • Supports firm participation/sponsorship and/or other engagement in private capital-specific industry events, as appropriate

Educational Requirements

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of related financial services or asset management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with institutional investor and wealth audiences, sales, investment teams, plus knowledge of sales process and private debt and private equity investment products
  • Knowledge of alternative asset classes, specifically private debt and private equity
  • Established credentials in developing and implementing specific campaigns
  • Cross-border experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of any of the following (or related marketing platforms): Pardot, Seismic, Cvent, Thirdlight, Wyden, Workfront, Percolate, InDesign, Photoshop
  • Cross border and multi-lingual experience/skills
  • Management experience
  • Enthusiastic individual, with a collegiate approach, able to work in a culturally diverse organization and at different levels of the business
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to express complex issues succinctly and clearly to business partners
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Demonstrates diligence, analytical approach and works proactively to resolve issues
  • Able to think independently and challenge in an appropriate manner
  • Exhibits influencing skills
  • Experience of working on a broad range of matters with a flexible attitude
  • Comfortable operating in/with a multi-location and multi-national extended team

Base Pay Range: $142,500/yr. - $195,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
