A key member of the WP Engine's leadership team, the Vice President of Product for Managed WordPress Hosting will play a major role in building out a world-class product organization for the company. The VP of Product will report to the CPO and will be responsible for leading the product vision, strategy, and roadmap execution for the most important product area of WP Engine; Managed WordPress Experience and Plan, reaching 200k+ customers and millions of developers.
Responsible for the customer-facing "PaaS" product, this role will create the customer "whole" product and own all features outside of the infrastructure platform (e.g. plans, site administration, add-on features) and associated digital customer interactions, including the onboarding flow. The charter of this role is to ensure the site administrator role achieves site performance effortlessly and meet their digital team's needs.
Key goals for this role will be to increase market share and NPS of the core managed WordPress product.
The VP of Product will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, and Sales in order to develop WP Engine's product discovery and long-term roadmap, while being a critical part of how WP Engine continues to revolutionize the way their customers buy what they need. This role is both highly strategic and hands-on,and would be a great fit for someone who is ambitious, structured, data-driven, performance oriented, with a passion for the craft of product management.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead product discovery and execution activities, taking a strategic and data driven approach to creating a long-term plan that delights customers and accomplishes important business goals
- Work closely with customers, prospects, and partners to understand their needs, advocate for their perspectives and led innovation on how our platform can be leveraged and adapted to meet those needs
- Own the whole product; lead and engage in rich discussions around pricing, product positioning and go-to-market strategy
- Lead the breakdown of strategies and business objectives into small rapidly deliverable value and/or experiments
- Deliver product outcomes on regular short cycles, while aligning rolling 4-12 week product plans with longer term product vision and strategy
- Act as a product evangelist through thought leadership, speaking, and engagement with industry communities
- Work cross-functionally with internal partners to create clarity, collaboration, alignment and force behind our objectives and product plan
- Recruit, coach and retain top product management talent
- Partner with Engineering and GTM in terms of migration approaches and investment priorities between new customer features and technology improvements
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and empathy for the customer
- Model a growth mindset and curiosity for the organization by giving and receiving feedback effectively
- Advocate for and represent the product organization at the executive level, communicate across functions and leaders at WP Engine to identify core opportunities for growth
Professional Qualifications
- 10+ years of product management experience, ideally in PaaS or B2B SaaS. (Developer experience and 100k+ users is nice to have)
- 5+ years of leadership (teams of 10+) and people management experience with defined strategies and approaches
- You are adaptable, analytical, positive, people-smart, and ambitious, seamlessly partnering and delivering value to all internal and external stakeholders
- Experience building and leading high performance product teams that partner well with engineering, marketing, sales and customer success
- Track record of career velocity and multiple management roles showing increasing depth and scope of responsibilities and product management capabilities
- Demonstrated track record of passion and success for innovating on behalf of customers.
- World-class problem-solver with a proven track record of growing, developing and hiring for excellent product management teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. You love helping other people understand not just the outputs and insights, but the background behind all decisions made
- Proven ability to use qualitative research, quantitative analysis, to make difficult prioritization and tradeoff decisions
- Experience prioritizing and balancing product plans based on customer insights, business impact and technology evolution
- Ability to influence and align with executives and other major stakeholders on product priorities while also remaining hands-on
- Track record of hitting product based metrics and revenue based metrics
- Ability to implement and drive a robust process that complement the company and team through various levels of scale
