Job Description

We're looking for our next innovative VP, Product to join our Product Management team. Reporting to the CEO, you'll contribute to MealSuite's success by developing products our customers love.
A day in the life as VP, Product:
- Guide the direction of the product vision, planning, and execution for a multidisciplinary product team.
- Cultivate relationships with cross-functional teams that partner with Product to provide the best customer experience possible, including Engineering, QA, Customer Support, Onboarding, and Sales.
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including partners, investors, and executives of external customer organizations.
- Evaluate resource requirements for our Product and Engineering teams, in collaboration with the VP, Engineering, to ensure products and features can be launched on-time and within budget.
- Recruit, retain, mentor and develop a growing team of Product Managers and Product Owners; provide feedback and resolve complex problems.
- Initiate and set goals for Product Management team according to the strategic OKRs of the organization.
- Create and maintain Product department SOPs and evaluate effectiveness as the team scales.
- Perform risk management to minimize product risk.
- Track product performance periodically to ensure both short-term and long-term goals are met.
In the first 6 months, you'll be successful at reaching these milestones:
- Dig deep to quickly learn new domains, identify key stakeholders, form relationships, and develop a solid understanding of all major parts of the business.
- Demonstrate clear understanding of your role as the primary coach of your product managers, and how that differs from managing products directly.
- Match your strategy to the situation. A clear diagnosis of the situation is an essential prerequisite for developing an action plan.
If the below describe your knowledge, experience, and character, then this role could be for you:
- I gained my product management knowledge through 10+ years of product management experience, having directly led teams for a B2B SaaS company.
- I have 4+ years of people leadership experience, ideally coaching and inspiring a team of 5 or more product stakeholders.
- I have hands-on experience managing all stages of the product lifecycle.
- I am familiar with Agile environments and methodologies, and have experience with Jira, Confluence, and Productboard (or another roadmap tool).
- I'm exceptional at time and resource management; I am detail-oriented and thrive in fast-paced environments that require me to multitask.
- I have implemented processes to streamline inter-team communication, especially around new product features and releases.
- I have tracked the success of new product launches and have experience reporting back to Finance/Leadership teams on expenses, successes, and opportunities for improvement.
- I have worked with SR&ED credits or similar research programs to identify projects that may be eligible for grants.
- I'm willing to occasionally travel and have a valid passport and no travel restrictions that limit my ability to cross the border between Canada and the USA.
