Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Vice President of Product and Application Development to lead and drive innovation in Quantum-Si. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the development and enhancement of our organization's product portfolio, as well as the design and execution of cutting-edge applications that demonstrate the full capabilities of our Single Molecule detection system and next-generation protein sequencer. The SVP will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our company and contributing to advancements in our technology.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive product development strategy aligned with the company's vision, goals, and market demands. Identify opportunities for product and application enhancements.
- Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to commercialization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, operations, and quality, to drive product innovation, ensure product quality, and meet customer requirements.
- Application Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative applications that result in driving customer adoption of Next Generation Protein Sequencing. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for application development that address customer needs and drive competitive advantage.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of product managers, application scientists, and engineers. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Set clear goals and OKRs, establish performance metrics, and drive accountability.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, sales, and customer success teams, to understand customer requirements, gather feedback, and align product development efforts with market demands. Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders, industry experts, and strategic partners to leverage external expertise and foster collaborations.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure all products and applications adhere to our standards, quality assurance protocols, and industry best practices. Collaborate with the Quality team to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and obtain necessary approvals and certifications.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the product development and application development budget. Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, infrastructure, and technology, to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
- Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field, preferably in Life Sciences or related discipline and at least 15 years of industry experience.
- Proven track record of success in a senior leadership role within the Life Sciences industry, with extensive experience in product development and application development.
- In-depth knowledge of the Life Sciences sector, including an understanding of market trends, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, driving innovation, and delivering results.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive product and application development strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- A strong commitment to quality.
Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):
- Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a relevant scientific field, preferably in Life Sciences or a related discipline.

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $250,000 - $.300,000 Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
