Job Summary:

The Vice President of Product Development is a key executive-level role responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the product development process within the organization. This position requires strategic vision, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and technological advancements. The Senior VP will collaborate closely with other senior leaders to drive innovation, develop product roadmaps, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for product development aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.

Lead the product development team in identifying new opportunities, assessing market trends, and evaluating competitive landscapes to drive innovation and growth.

Collaborate with executive leadership to define product development priorities and allocate resources effectively.

Product Development Process:

Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept ideation to launch and beyond, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.

Establish and implement best practices, processes, and methodologies to optimize efficiency, speed, and quality in product development.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration within the product development team.

Team Management and Development:

Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing product development team, providing guidance, support, and professional growth opportunities.

Set clear goals and performance expectations for team members, and regularly assess and provide feedback on individual and team performance.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity and empowers team members to contribute their best ideas and efforts.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and integration across all phases of product development.

Work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO and board of directors, to provide regular updates on product development progress, milestones, and challenges.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and vendors, to gather feedback, validate product ideas, and drive customer-centric innovation.

Financial Management:

Develop and manage the product development budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support strategic initiatives and achieve business objectives.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), financial metrics, and other relevant data to track the performance and ROI of product development efforts.

Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue growth, and profitability enhancement through strategic product decisions and investments.

Owns P&L responsibilities for SaaS products and aligns with Operations on services P&L

Qualifications / Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Proven track record of successful leadership and management in product development roles, with at least 5 years of experience in a senior executive position.

Deep understanding of product development methodologies, technologies, and trends, particularly in healthcare risk adjustment.

Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and business acumen, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies and plans.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to build consensus, resolve conflicts, and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals.

Demonstrated ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and attention to detail.

Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics to drive business growth and profitability.

Salary Range (or rate): $142,000-$280,000/yr
Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, and other relevant factors. This is Episource’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position as of the time of posting.
