What You’ll Do/Responsibilities:
The role provides leadership in aligning development with business objectives. The incumbent provides overall direction and guidance to software engineers. Drives software development across multiple teams and phases to ensure execution of project work plans. Determines department priorities and ensures software development objectives are met.
- Responsible for ensuring the requirements are understood by stakeholders and the dates associated with their planned completion, are commensurate with the architecture risk and the expectations for aligning to approved standards
- This is a technical role, and you will be expected to write code on a near daily basis. You will be responsible for writing core code modules for the team to consume and occasional bug fixes.
- You will conduct Peer review of your engineering team's code and provide feedback.
- You will make all key architectural, design, and data decisions.
- Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes that drive velocity and adaptability.
Who You Are/Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on Technical Architect. Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines. A minimum of 5+ years of hands on experience on engineering and building distributed large scale systems. Start up experience is a plus for this role.
- In depth knowledge in Domain Driven Design, Micro services, Event Oriented Design, and Cloud design patterns.
- Experience using distributed event store and streaming platforms such as Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
- In depth knowledge and experience with relational databases and schema design
- In depth knowledge and experience with NoSQL (AWS DynamoDB) design patterns.
- Expert in Serverless Architecture in AWS or any other cloud platform.
- Experience in building highly available and scalable solutions.
- Knowledgeable and capable of writing DevOps code from scratch using template as code frameworks such as Terraform, Serverless, or Cloud Formation.
- In depth knowledge and experience with Docker containers. Experience with Kubernetes or AWS ECR/ECS/Fargate preferred.
- 10+ Years in Python, JavaScript, or any other interpreted language.
- 7+ Years experience using Django or other backend frameworks.
- 7+ Years experience using React, Angular, or other frontend frameworks.
- 3+ Years AWS Experience and preferably should hold at least 1 AWS certificate.
