VP Product Management, CPO HCM
Job Description
ADP is looking for a Chief Product Owner (VP, Product Management). The successful candidate will be passionate about the opportunity to create a vision to transform our Human Capital Management (Payroll, HR, Talent) solutions, serving as a catalyst for organizational growth and success. You will be an expert in the field of product management, global HCM domains and matrix leadership. As a member of the Senior Leadership team this role will lead the strategic vision and delivery of the HCM solutions within our global products, addressing internal and external business changes, market challenges and regulatory issues.
To thrive in this role, you will define a strategy that unifies and standardizes our HCM domains to be consistently leveraged across all SOR's, while leading a team of product managers who will matrix into each SOR team to ensure client connectivity. Your team will also be responsible for working across global stakeholders including Business Unit leaders, Sales and Service Leaders, Developers and Product Managers to ensure the vision/strategy is fully aligned and executed consistently in all markets. In addition, the CPO is responsible for defining and achieving the strategic business objectives spanning revenue growth, client retention, market share, and product innovation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Here's what you can expect on a typical day:
Influence Product and Go-To-Market Strategies:
- Define multi-product strategies and drive a unified product portfolio vision.
- Align cross-functional teams and stakeholders on product strategies.
- Identify/ensure clear go to market owners for each product launch.
- Partner with Marketing teams to ensure go-to-market (GTM) and pricing policies are aligned with objectives.
Influence and Drive Product Portfolio Planning and Prioritization
- Conceptualize new markets to penetrate and drive new applicable product innovations.
- Defines product roadmap aligning to business strategy and overall GPT level portfolio outcomes.
- Guides product planning to address competitive space.
- Partners with engineering, design and business leaders ensuring adequate support to realize product goals for the year.
- Leads development and negotiations of strategic partnerships with software/service providers and manages existing relationships with alliances as they relate directly within respective domains.
Customer/User Experience and Market Orientation:
- Define and/or influence requirements to enable and leverage usability studies, business and product usage data, external industry trends, and metrics, to generate insights. Assure insights are effectively incorporated and outcomes are aligned.
- Partners with UX teams, supporting and encouraging an iterative design driven approach; integrating the user experience design process as part of the product definition and discovery process.
- Thoroughly understand competitors and their offerings. Know the market and identify new partnerships or acquisition targets to broaden or enhance a product portfolio.
- Partner with Product, Corporate Strategy, and Business Leaders to execute due diligence as needed. Analyzes market trends, articulates a market vision for the future and is regarded as a thought leader in the product/technology landscape.
- Committed customer advocate, empowering team to engage customers.
- Serves as the key client facing contact for the product portfolio. Engages critical 3rd party influencers, analysts, and consultants to educate the market on ADPs portfolio of products and services.
- Monitors commercial success as well as overall product performance and competitiveness in the marketplace and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
Product Acumen and Metrics:
- Expertise in measuring standards for product(s) effectiveness, identifying trends, report outcomes, and drive priorities to improve outcomes.
- Knows which are the most meaningful KPIs to track across products to drive business unit OKRs. Adept at crafting OKRs for product portfolio.
- Understands and influences technical architectures and opportunities in order to identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration across the portfolio.
- Partners with development and security leaders to understand and prioritize enhancements required to improve product security.
Product Leadership and Impact:
- Effectively leads and inspires people, with leadership skills and behaviors, across the organization.
- Leads global product teams through rapid, data-driven iterations focused on customer and stakeholder outcomes.
- Drive impact of all engagements with team members and extended team members through delivery and effectiveness.
- Ensures that the organization understands the vision and direction for the product(s); responsible for communicating and reinforce strategy across teams.
- Partner with engineering leaders to continuously improve and drive an effective organizational design and team engagement and operating model.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
- You'll have 15+ years' progressive international product management roles culminating in leading multiple agile design-driven, user-centered product and development teams delivering web/mobile based product(s) and/or supporting systems.
- Experience with Digital Transformation and leading product strategy with Digital First mindset.
- Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent in education and experience.
- Proven experience building and leading strong teams that achieve high standards of performance.
- Willing to travel frequently, including internationally.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- MBA and/or advanced Technical Degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of global HCM, workforce management or global payroll background to include global product launch.
- Understanding of relevant security requirements (e.g. GDPR as it relates to international; HIPAA as it relates to healthcare, CCPA).
- Experience working with Agile methodology.
- Demonstrated thought leadership; authored articles, speaking and/or moderating experience at industry trade conferences.
