About the Role
We're looking for a Vice President (VP) of Product Management who will play a pivotal role in the future of Cloudflare's product portfolio and in the future of one of the fastest growing cloud companies overall. The VP of Product Platform will be responsible for the vision and delivery of the core building blocks used to deliver our products, such as API and identity, our data and analytics, our user dashboard and configuration tools and the systems to support customers, such as billing and alerting. You'll be managing a team of Product Managers and partnering closely with engineering, sales, marketing, design, content and customer support teams, to deliver on the product roadmap and ensure a high level of product quality and delivery. This role reports to the Chief Product Officer.
The Product organization at Cloudflare is made up of Product Managers, Product Designers, Product Content Managers and New Product Introduction Professionals. We love to learn, collaborate, and solve large-scale problems.
Your work and the work of your team will impact and influence products used by millions of people and thousands of companies daily. As Vice President of Product Platform you will work in partnership with Engineering leadership but you will also work closely with the leadership team of the company and other cross-functional stakeholders. Building and managing a talented, diverse and inclusive team will be key to your success and the success of Cloudflare's platform and products generally.
What You'll Do

You have outstanding communication and collaboration skills and are able to work hands-on with a diverse group, get buy-in, and drive the platform forward. You are customer-obsessed and execution focused and emphasize getting things done. You have a passion for building SaaS products and want to solve the problems of performance, security, and reliability on the Internet.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leaders to plan, design and build a world-class, global platform on which all Cloudflare products are built. The platform spans the Cloudflare API, Identity Management, Deployment Systems, Billing, SSO, Customer-Service components and other shared components that make up the Cloudflare platform.
- Recruit, lead, manage and mentor a team of product managers spanning Directors, Group Managers and Individual Contributors.
- Engage directly with customers, listening to their needs, solving their problems and communicating the vision of the Platform.
- Lead, define, represent and communicate product strategy to all stakeholders.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics for the platform and your organization.
- Own the product roadmap and communicate with C-level staff, board members, and other stakeholders.
- Sweat the details. Drive broader strategy while also working closely with the team on the finer points of specific use cases and implementations.
- Drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership and decisive action.
- Become the key evangelist of the Platform and participate in both external and internal communication activities, conferences, discussions with thought leaders and market analysts.
- Ideally located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Austin, TX, Seattle, WA, New York, NY, but exceptional candidates that wish to work remotely will be considered.
- Previous experience leading world class product teams at reputable companies within the SaaS/Cloud industry.
- Deep technical expertise, curiosity and a strong understanding of networks and the Internet.
- Proven track record building and developing diverse teams.
- Deep empathy with, and understanding of customer needs.
- Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum 15 years product management experience.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to craft product strategies and go-to-market strategies in collaboration with functional leaders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operational issues with product management and software development systems.
- Customer-centric mindset with the capability of translating customer needs and customer experiences into the product development process.
- Successfully implemented data-driven processes to turn a vision into an actionable roadmap.
Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
- For Colorado-based hires and Washington hires: Estimated annual salary of $275,000 - $337,000
- For New York City-based and California (excluding Bay Area): Estimated annual salary of $308,000- $376,000.
- For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $324,000 - $396,000.
Equity
This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare's equity plan.
