VP, Program Management

We are looking for a VP, Program Management to take a key position at Big Spaceship.

The VP, Program Management is responsible for being at the helm of all net-new engagements defining approaches, staffing, pricing, and timing as well as ensuring delivery excellence on all the net-new and existing engagements. You will drive decision-making and be a significant part of defining the strategic approach to delivery across the experience design (product) discipline. This person will continue to evolve, define and implement standards and processes in line with overall Big Spaceship processes, collaborate with project management teams across the agency, and successfully mitigate risk and solve project crisis situations.

Roles + Responsibilities:

• Proactively assess project scopes, resource balancing, and the integrity of revenue.
• Own the profitable delivery of client work and enforce solid margins with the responsibility to escalate issues appropriately.
• Actively manage project and program health through the lens of hours/actuals and scope budgets.
• Assess new business opportunities and partner with the new business team to deliver an approach and scope to the client, inclusive of proposal writing and ownership
• Create strong relationships across disciplines and look for opportunities both big and small to deliver better work for our clients.
• Collaborate with Resource Management to ensure a proper staffing mix with an eye toward an active and ongoing rebalancing of teams through ongoing and consistent evaluation of discipline skills.
• Leverage the experience of key discipline leads (including Strategy & Analytics, Creative & Design, Account, Production & Studio, Experience Design, and Content) to develop project proposals and statements of work.
• Deliver client presentations as well as lead and facilitate meetings and workshops.
• Manage and develop processes for scope changes/change requests.
• Partner with the finance to ensure timely and accurate weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reporting.
• Contribute to business development efforts and in partnership with discipline leads define project approaches, and budgets and attend client calls/meetings when required.
• Build strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders/discipline heads to build unified relationships.
• Source and own relationships with development vendors to partner with our Experience Design discipline
• Stand up new accounts/engagements. Work with Resource Management, discipline leads, and recruiting to get staffing in place to kick off.
• Further develop Project Management standards and approaches to different project types, onboarding, offboarding, and case studies.

The salary band for this role is $200,000 - $250,000. Where a prospective new hire's base salary will fall within this band depends on several factors including their qualifications and experience, the skill level required in the role, market rates, and the salaries of existing crew members at Big Spaceship within the same role to maintain equity.

Requirements

• 12+ years of program management, project management or equivalent experience in an agency environment
• Google Suite & Microsoft Excel Proficient
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with a mastery of project management, P&L management, project workflow, and team infrastructure
• Passion for defining client solutions with proven, measurable results on large multi-platform engagements that span websites, mobile/tablet applications, experiential, campaign, video, social/content, brand, and strategic consulting
• Strong presentation skills
• Solutions-oriented
• Obsessed with organization and the details but can pull back and see the big picture at the same time
