Outbrain is seeking a VP of Publisher Business Development to play a key role in expanding our Americas business by creating new premium publisher partnerships with a heavy emphasis on video.  The ideal candidate will achieve this by leading and establishing a long-term video sales strategy and will partner with a best in class Business Development team to secure new distribution partnerships .  You will be responsible for taking our high growth  and established products to the world’s top media owners. You must possess the ability to stand out in a crowded and competitive landscape and have a winning record  in digital media technology and revenue leadership. 

 

 

A day in the life: 

  • Develop a strategic business plan for the US publisher sales team with a focus on video
  • Manage your pipeline; accurately forecast new business timelines and revenue
  • Develop, grow, and maintain senior publisher relationships throughout the industry
  • Ability to navigate complex publisher organizations and a multitude of stakeholders to build adoption for Outbrain product suite 
  • Liaise with our Head of Partner Management to effectively understand client needs, manage client expectations and ensure successful, sustainable implementation of our technology
  • Liaise with the Business Intelligence team to accurately model and negotiate publisher sales opportunities of varying complexities  
  • Provide input to product management teams on features that would provide partners additional value; understand details of product roadmap
  • Work closely with the Partner Management team on day-to-day account management 

 

 

What you’ll bring:

  • 12+ years experience of working in the US media industry with deep understanding of thee US publisher ecosystem
  • 4+ year of video sales experience 
  • Solid understanding of digital technologies/site monetization and ability to explain product benefits in detail
  • Expert level understanding of video and programmatic offerings
  • Outstanding interpersonal, presentation and sales skills. Excellent relationship building abilities and experience in contract negotiations
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating deals for a digital company or deals where an online component and revenue was central
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify trends in data and in generated reports; experienced in financial modeling and forecasting

The base pay range for this position is $200,000.00-$250,000.00 in addition to a competitive commission package. The actual amount offered may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to salary, you may be eligible for an equity package, as well as our benefits and perks to support you and your family as part of Outbrain’s total rewards package.
