Role Summary/Purpose:
The pace and complexity of software development is increasing constantly - straining traditional IT operations practice s. DevOps helps alleviate siloed workflows , and lack of visibility and collaboration. However, DevOps teams do not necessarily dedicate resources to increase application reliability and performance. That gap is filled by Reliability Engineering, which applies software engineering principles to ensure high reliability and scalability of software systems.
The VP, Reliability Engineering Manager leads a team of reliability, software and systems engineers to build and run enterprise-level, highly distributed, and fault-tolerant systems. This leader ensures that the organization's solutions maintain all necessary service levels (availability, stability, and reliability) to meet the company's servicing objectives and customers' needs. A unique combination of software engineering and platform engineering skills and experience enables the Reliability Engineering Manager to oversee not only the availability and stability of mission-critical applications, but also the constant release of new capabilities on those applications, while maintaining that high standard .

Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of an aggressive company-wide cloud migration strategy for several mission critical applications .
- Be a thought-leader and well-recognized voice in the reliability engineering practices for the company, with a broad influence across the company.
- Manage the rollout of the Dev Sec Ops program across digital applications , partner ing with multiple business and technolog y teams .
- Own platform health monitoring, reporting and client communication across a large number of partners and digital solutions .
- Supervise a team of reliability engineers who maintain the dependability and scalability of enterprise-scale applications.
- L ead the reliability function to ensure the highest level of systems availability, stability, security, and performance, including maintenance and support, root cause analysis, systems validation, performance tuning and capacity management.
- Coordinate resolution to incidents. Establish a root cause analysis program that will lead to reduced downtime, increased resiliency, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish key metrics for critical business uptime, customer satisfaction and impact to it.
- Coordinate between infrastructure, platform, and application subject matter experts to promote reliability efforts through communication and best practice sharing.
- Lead management of software and platform end - of - life (EOL) requirements, capacity management, and associated investment plans.
- Partner with CTO org in maintaining and improving operational availability, stability, and resiliency.
- Collaborate with a pplication m anagers and a rchitects i n technology strategy, roadmap, and error budget.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum 1 5 years of combined experience in application development and support for associated infrastructure OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED 1 3 years of combined experience .
- Minimum 10 years of systems and platform engineering experience.
- Management and leadership skills are essential. Previous experience of 5 years in managing a technology solutioning function comprising multiple platform engineers .
- Knowledge and experience in the build, deployment, and operations of distributed, microservice oriented applications .
- Sound grasps of SRE concepts like SLOs, release management, monitoring, resilience, etc.
- Proven results in a drive towards a culture of constant improvement in programming and systems efficiency .
- Proven leadership in driving the adoption of the Dev Sec Ops culture .
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to explain, influence and negotiate .
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong working knowledge of fintech Industry as it relates to consumer financing .
- Deep experience in service-oriented architecture .
- Deep Agile expertise .
- Critical thinking and creativity .
- Experience building and deploying applications on Cloud platforms.
- Working knowledge of API gateway s.
- Expertise in hosting mobile solutions including native and mobile web .
- Extensive experience with integration, testing and releases across complex distributed systems .
Grade/Level: 13
The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- N ew hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
