POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Vice President Sales Effectiveness

DEPARTMENT: Sales

EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President Sales Effectiveness leads the strategic and operational planning processes to ensure the Sales function has the appropriate insight, tools, process models and information technologies in place to design, manage and optimize the end-to-end customer sales experience to achieve targeted revenue growth goals. The Vice President Sales Effectiveness will combine strategic thinking with execution to define, deliver and measure productivity initiatives which may include skills training, sales methodologies, tool & process improvements, best practice sharing, resource development, coaching programs, and more.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead strategy, organization, and execution of the Sales Effectiveness function to empower our sales teams across all sales channels with the skills, knowledge, technology, and processes required to succeed in their roles and improve productivity and sales efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to make recommendations on initiatives that will improve sales productivity
  • Partner closely with Sales to become an expert across Customer segments and Sales roles including understanding business goals, strategic initiatives, and sales motions to inform the development of the annual strategic plan for all sales verticals in alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Develops, drives, and supports the implementation of Sales strategies leading to operational plans in compliance with Company policies and procedures to achieve business goals.
  • Own the plan, design, and delivery of sales effectiveness programs (e.g., training and talent development initiatives, process improvements, technology implementation, cross selling strategy and market planning) to align leadership on the gaps and priorities across Sales teams.
  • Rigorously measure the impact of initiatives on the targeted KPIs and optimize based on results
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with business leadership at all levels (within the sales organization, field operations and Customer Resource Center) to understand priorities, secure input and earn buy-in
  • Establish an ongoing communications cadence with leadership and regularly share results and learnings to drive accountability and justify investments
  • Creates a shared vision, inspires collaboration, and drives change with momentum throughout the Sales organization.
  • Support internal communications for Sales by delivering relevant, practical information in a timely manner (e.g., product roadmap, legal & compliance, systems & tools), and reinforcing company-wide announcements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Problem solver with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with senior leaders
  • Ability to work effectively across business units, functions, and geographies in a fast-paced environment to develop strategic plans and have experience negotiating with high-level decision-makers
  • Fluency in relationship-building, particularly with key decision-makers and influencers. Ability to adapt / modulate style according to different settings and personalities
  • Ability to lead and organize multiple multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives, with difficult and long-reaching results-cycles in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of financial policies and budget requirements, including forecasting.
  • Strong communication and writing skills (presentations and public speaking).


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience managing sales, operations, or business development.
  • Ability to lead and organize multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment
