Job DescriptionThe Role:Â
The Vice President, Sales Engineering will be responsible for managing all facets of the Sales Engineering team nationally. The VP SE will align with our sales, product and marketing leadership, and you and your team will represent the full suite of product offering from delivery through implementation through world-class long term performance for ID.me’s customers and prospects. You will support strategic sales opportunities and evangelize our solutions and roadmaps alongside product and engineering. You will engage and influence a varied audience utilizing your dynamic and engaging communication and presentation skills. You will act as a hands-on leader utilizing your experience building and managing a high-performance team of Sales Engineers that will help accelerate our growing business. This is an excellent opportunity to build and shape Sales Engineering while delivering on our technology go-to market strategy.Â
Job Overview:Â
- Deep knowledge of our tech stack, product suite and customer needs to maximize ROI alignments
- Partner and lead RFP process with our Executive team and CEO
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Sales senior leadership to create strategic roadmaps for ID.me product and technology growth
- Act as a player/coach to deliver compelling presentations to customers and prospects
- Establish goals, operational objectives and work plans for the SE team to align with Sales, Product and Engineering teamsÂ
- Review objectives to determine success of the Sales Engineering function and communicate to the Executive Leadership Team team
- Drives business decisions through Data Analytics
- Provide and maintain technical sales support (e.g., product presentations, architecture reviews, application discussions, prototype development) for key accounts
- Act as an ID.me thought leader presenting to our customers during executive briefings and conferences, guide and create the development of white-papers, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices
- Develop and execute selling strategies and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Successfully build, inspire and retain high performing sales engineers
- Elevate the Sales Engineering organization by developing the gold standard for technical messaging and content
- Direct territory and SE management team conference callsÂ
- Develop and communicate policies that affect the SE functionÂ
- Assure adherence to budgets, schedules and work plansÂ
- Actively measure, monitor and adjust resources and activities appropriately to maintain great customer engagement, sales process methodology and utilizationÂ
- Provide status updates on scheduling, account status, and other issues to the Executive Leadership Team
- MS/BS degree in Business, Computer Science, Business Analytics or equivalent preferredÂ
- 10+ years experience managing pre-sales organizations
- 5+ years experience managing a diverse and distributed workforceÂ
- Solid executive presence, ability to effectively interact with executives within and outside of the companyÂ
- Strong organizational, project management and time management skillsÂ
- Proven leadership skills in the ability to recruit, mentor, coach and develop employeesÂ
- Experience in key account management and execution of complex sales campaignsÂ
- Strong performance management and team building skillsÂ
- Solid listening skills - can quickly digest information and respond in an accurate and concise manner
- Respond appropriately to complex questionsÂ
- Ability to troubleshoot a sales cycleÂ
- Proven sales and marketing capabilitiesÂ
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional organizationsÂ
- Experience in developing and managing budgetsÂ
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise software technologyÂ
- Understand the Business Intelligence MarketplaceÂ
- Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
- Willing and able to travel about 50%+ of time
