This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP Sales Management – Retail based in the United States.

This is a senior sales leadership opportunity focused on driving growth across enterprise retail and commercial markets through complex, high-value SaaS and analytics solutions. The role is responsible for building and scaling a high-performing field sales organization, with direct impact on revenue expansion, new logo acquisition, and strategic account penetration. You will operate at the executive level, engaging senior retail decision-makers across merchandising, finance, procurement, and operations to position advanced payment accuracy and audit recovery solutions. The environment is fast-paced, highly competitive, and deeply consultative, requiring both strategic vision and hands-on leadership. You will shape go-to-market execution, refine sales strategy, and ensure disciplined pipeline management across teams. This is a highly visible role where leadership, commercial acumen, and industry expertise directly influence business growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing retail field sales organization, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive achievement of team revenue targets through new business acquisition and expansion within existing enterprise retail and commercial accounts.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, forecasting models, and annual revenue plans aligned with organizational growth objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities through strategic prospecting, competitive displacement, and expansion within retail and commercial segments.
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with senior retail stakeholders, including C-suite, SVP, merchandising, finance, and procurement leaders.
  • Lead complex enterprise sales cycles, including value-based selling focused on financial impact, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure strong pipeline discipline, CRM accuracy, and consistent sales reporting across the organization.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, operations, and client success teams to support solution positioning, revenue growth, and client retention.
  • Oversee seamless client transitions from sales to delivery teams, ensuring long-term satisfaction and expansion opportunities.
  • Recruit, coach, and retain top-tier sales talent while building scalable team structures and performance management frameworks.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
    • 7–10+ years of experience in enterprise sales, including hunter roles focused on complex software, SaaS, or analytics solutions.
    • 5+ years of experience selling into large national or regional retail organizations.
    • 3+ years of experience leading and managing field sales teams (typically 5–7+ direct reports).
    • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding multimillion-dollar revenue targets in enterprise environments.
    • Strong executive presence with established relationships across senior retail decision-makers.
    • Deep understanding of retail industry dynamics, including payment integrity, audit recovery, compliance, data analytics, or operational intelligence solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead consultative, value-based sales cycles focused on measurable business outcomes.
    • Strong skills in forecasting, market segmentation, pipeline management, and sales strategy development.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to operate independently in a remote environment.
