VP, Sales (Mid-Market)

Summary
The Vice President (VP), Sales will lead Loyal’s Mid-Market sales team by providing leadership, direction, and resource stewardship to Loyal’s sales function. The VP, Sales will be accountable for the profitable achievement of sales organization goals and aligning sales objectives with Loyal’s business strategy. Our Mid-Market sales team is a group of experienced sales professionals dedicated to sharing our message with health systems and growing our business. Loyal’s sales process is very complex, and relationship oriented. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, the VP, Sales will play an integral role as the leader of this team, motivating each individual to achieve personal and team quotas. Up to 20% travel (approx. 1-2 times per month, duration of trips are 2-3 days typically).
- Responsible for helping with the design and implementation of a comprehensive sales strategy.
- Aligns the team on key value drivers and ensures all members of the team understand and can communicate those differentiators.
- Establishes and enhances metrics for measuring the performance of various groups within the team as well as the performance of the team as a whole, including leading indicators such as activities, pipeline generation (with lead source), pipeline velocity, and close rate.
- Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Responsible for the budget process, including managing team expenditures and remaining within budget guidelines.
- Hires, coaches, and manages a team of Mid-Market sales representatives and sales development representatives.
- Analyzes performance data to drive improvements through methods, procedures, and training.
- Aligns the sales team objectives with Loyal’s business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
- Manages all stages of the sales process and pipeline.
- Builds and manages sales documentation (presentations, proposals, memos, implementation plans, etc.).
- Manages contract negotiations and legal review with support from the sales leadership.
- Leads learning and development initiatives impacting the sales team and provides stewardship of sales and sales management talent.
- Builds plans for territory assignment and quota attainment. Hits quarterly and yearly revenue goals.
- Motivates sales representatives through creative incentives.
- Establishes a regular cadence for reporting on team and individual results.
- Identifies and makes recommendations for improvement in the areas of process, efficiency, and productivity.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years in enterprise software sales as a sales representative is required.
- 5+ years in growing and managing sales teams for software companies is required.
- Experience working in the healthcare SaaS industry is required.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM required.
- Experience with contract negotiations required.
- Experience with compensation and budget management required.
- Proven track record in implementing processes and systems to hit revenue goals is required.
- Experience working within a high growth and/or ambiguous environment, with proven experience to be dynamic preferred.
