JOB DESCRIPTION:
Officerposition responsiblefortheoverall management and directionof theSmall Business Salesand verticals. Works in partnership with CNA executives and business leaders to develop and drive CNA's Small Business market engagement, distribution strategy and communication initiatives. Ensures CNA Small Business remains responsive and opportunistic in a rapidly changing environment for distribution by monitoring and taking action on industry trends .
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
1. Leads, directs and has management accountability for approximately 25 staff in area of responsibility (Sales and Programs) with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
2. Manages the development and expansion of Small Business Programs, working in conjunction with Small Business Underwriting and profitability strategies. Will build and refine the new business programs development process and an inforce program management strategy. Will collaborate with key business partners: Actuarial, Claim, Risk Control, and Finance for overall program management.
3. Defines and approves the sales team and program development goals. In conjunction with the SVP of Small Business, accountable for enterprise sales results and program development for Small Business.
4. Manages senior relationships with large online distributors, Small Commercial Programs and specific aggregators; monitors and coordinates agency planning, agency reviews, plan reviews, completes and updates distributor profiles.
5. Directs and coordinates agency appointments, contracting and onboarding new agents that focus on Small business, as well as termination and licensing.
6. Delivers direction, onboarding and supporting tools for common sales practices employed at point of sale. Provides resources and measures to support the continuous development of CNA Small Business organizational sales competencies that shape the sales culture.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. Expert communication, negotiation, relationship-building, influence and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners as well as the ability to train others in new concepts, technology or initiatives.
2. Proven sales and agency management knowledge and skills. Responsible for driving a sales culture in Small Business Sales & Programs.
3. Strong knowledge and understanding of agency management and contracts, knowledge of pertinent state laws on insurance code. Understanding of relationships with state departments of insurance and key industry organizations.
4. Strong leadership skills to drive results with a large team, and multiple levels of reports.
5. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
6. Excellent organizational acumen and the ability to balance multiple priorities and issues successfully.
7. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Marketing, Accounting or related field, with MBA or other graduate degree preferred, or equivalent.
2. Typically a minimum of twelve to fifteen years of sales or industry experience, with five to eight years of management experience.
3. Experience managing agency relationships and developing agent segmentation strategies.
4. Experience developing/delivering marketing and agent engagement promotions.
