We're seeking a Sr. System Performance Engineer to work with our stellar team on end to end telemetry and performance monitoring visibility and reporting! You will have a chance to work with Broadridge's world-class clients leading highly visible projects. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of complex systems. You will work closely with software developers, infrastructure, and operations teams to identify and address potential issues that could impact the reliability of a system.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

Identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing potential (and any existing) problems and issues that could impact the operation of a system.

Conducting root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes of problems.

Developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve the reliability of the system.

Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), implementing resilience and fault-tolerance techniques.

Developing and maintaining system and component-level reliability models. This can include conducting reliability testing, analyzing system logs and metrics, and identifying trends and patterns that could impact reliability.

Collaborating with software developers and infrastructure operations teams to implement best practice architectures to improve system reliability

Participating in capacity planning and performance optimization activities. This can include conducting performance simulations, analyzing system utilization data, and making recommendations for improving capacity and performance.

Providing regular reports and updates to stakeholders on the reliability of the system, including identifying potential issues and providing recommendations for improvement.

To be successful in this role, a systems performance engineer should have a strong understanding of software development and operations, as well as experience with a variety of tools and technologies used in infrastructure engineering. They should also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to work well in a team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in technology, development, infrastructure
  • 7-10 years' experience interfacing APM and observability stacks and solutions with complex applications, products, and infrastructure
  • Demonstrable ability to accurately and efficiently architect and implement multi-product integrated solutions to meet cross-business/application/platform needs
  • Extensive application/SDLC background pursuant to integrating secure solutions and identity/authentication/authorization models and designs
  • Hands-on expertise of software technology design at a complex level
  • Expert level of knowledge and skillset within the application performance monitoring and observability area
  • The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical
  • An ability to think 'outside of the box' with a long-term view, when recommending solutions.
  • Organizational skills are required to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
  • Supports recovery efforts in the event of systems failure or disaster.
  • Candidates must have the ability to motivate and lead others in a positive manner and ensure the group's work gets done in a timely fashion.
  • Strong research initiative, a self-starter at locating relevant documentation, support and process assistance
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate with a variety of individuals at all levels is required.
  • The ability to influence others in a politically correct manner, so that objectives are met, is required.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of software and/or hardware systems used in assigned area
