We are looking for a VP, Strategic Solution Sales to join our dynamic team!
Preferred Location: REMOTE, The position requires extensive travel (70%) and the ideal candidate will live in proximity of a HUB airport in the United States.
What you'll do at Elekta:
The primary responsibility of the VP, Strategic Solution Sales is to establish and implement new business development sales strategies across the United States. He/She will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities with prospective customers, with a focus on driving order growth and expanding our market presence. This role requires a strategic approach to sales, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building and customer acquisition.
The VP will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
The role is about developing the Strategic Sales Development team that will gain customer commitment, build momentum, and accelerate the sales cycle. In addition, manage a high-performing team where team members are motivated to perform at their fullest potential and creatively drive new customer solutions.
The successful candidate for this position should have a proven track record of driving sales growth, building and managing high-performance sales teams, as well as exceptional communication and negotiation skills. They should also possess extensive knowledge of market trends and competitive landscape in the industry.
Overall, the VP Strategic Solution Sales plays a critical role in achieving business success and requires a highly strategic and results-driven individual who can effectively lead and motivate a sales team to achieve sales targets while maintaining strong customer relationships.
To be successful in this role you will be a strong team player and collaborate with all sales channels and supporting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Creation and execution of new business opportunities sales strategies for Elekta's product portfolio.
- Analyse sales activity data and develops the necessary sales contingency plan to ensure financial profitability and success.
- Manage the financial plan in the areas of orders, revenue, expenses and margin.
- Leverage excellent customer experience to new Elekta customers.
- Build relationships with new key customers and partners and negotiating contracts.
- Proactively lead a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for a one and three-year period. Maintain and manage executive-level interaction and customer satisfaction
- Maintain awareness of industry, competition, market conditions to leverage client relationships. Maintain knowledge of hospital decision authority and financial support process.
- Responsible for cultivating, developing, and reinforcing effective selling techniques that will enable his/her team to grow their business in a profitable and fair manner.
- Effectively empower the salespeople, guiding them as they make their own strategic business decisions about their customers.
- Set sales objectives and proactively identifies coaching opportunities to ensure an individual's sales skills and sales strategies are aligned to the core business and development objectives.
- Continuously develop the team through active coaching and mentoring.
- Foster a team environment where all members can openly discuss and share ideas for attaining goals and resolve any open issues regarding the team itself or a customer account.
- Own the budgeting and sales forecasting cycle.
- Ensure all company policies are adhered to, including but not limited to, business, marketing and service, human resources, travel, expense and all quality and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Support, promote and deliver the company's vision, values and policy to all employees and customers as appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by EVP Region and other senior management.
- Incorporate Elekta Values into all department functions and responsibilities.
- Take responsibility for the attraction, retention and development of the capabilities (competencies, knowledge, skills and experience) of the direct reports
- Ensure that regular face-to-face performance and coaching meeting take place with all direct reports and where necessary ensure that any underperformance/training needs identified are documented and HR support requested
- Ensure all employees have a meaningful annual performance planning and evaluation meeting where development activities are discussed, documented and acted upon within a timely manner in line with Elekta Global policies
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Bachelor's degree and eight years of progressive advancement and success in sales management within the medical industry unless candidate has at least 10 years of sales experience within Elekta.
- Demonstrated success in strategic long sales cycle selling, negotiation, and developing new account opportunities.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to train, coach, and support the sales team
- Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate using skills in successful management sales and project management process both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and ability to determine solutions for customer (consultative sales approach).
- Demonstrated initiative (self-starter) and leadership/organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Clearly demonstrated ability to supervise a team of committed sales employees and maintain a high level of morale and sales productivity.
- Flexible with a "win-win" approach to sales in a variety of Customer Market Segments
- Must be able to interface with Executives and all levels of management and fully understand the financial aspects of the selling process.
- Has shown several years of experience on communication with and selling to the C suites of Hospitals and Universities as well as with large buying groups.
- Exceptional follow up and follow through on various customer communications
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 70%)
