VP, Talent Development
Job Description
We are looking for a Vice President, Talent Development to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. Reporting to the EVP, Chief People Officer, you'll leverage your expertise and passion to create an exceptional learning environment and culture at Bloom Energy. Your focus will be on helping our people and leaders grow and develop so everyone at Bloom Energy can experience their best days at work.
Your focus will be to accelerate the implementation of a talent management framework related to performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and alignment with learning and development offerings to enable outstanding organizational, team and employee/business performance.
With best practices, design, develop and implement global innovative talent management programs and processes to improve depth, quality and engagement of talent across the organization; may include development and management of talent profiles, career paths, competency models, assessment tools, diversity, organizational change framework and team effectiveness tools, etc. to ensure global consistency and continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead the translation of Bloom Energy's business strategy into thoughtful and innovative leadership & employee development practices.
- Build the infrastructure and implement a framework to identify and develop the Bloom Energy global leadership pipeline. Define the competencies, skill sets and attributes to reinforce the diversity of Bloom Energy culture
- Work in partnership with the Executive and Human Resources leadership team to develop the approach for development and deployment of various learning and development programs and initiatives.
- Design and deliver a management development program that ensures we have the necessary capabilities at all levels of management/leadership
- Conduct talent needs assessment and develops/engages the appropriate resources to drive action and solutions
- Build and oversees relationships with key outside partners and vendors.
- Leverage employee listening system and other data insights to make talent recommendations that drive culture and engagement and improves organizational performance
- Ability to translate broad, longer term vision and objectives into specific milestones and goals to deliver executive learning and development initiatives for the business
- Develop, manage and enhance related communication to employees through various mediums including electronic, digital, newsletters brochures, meetings and other means to create a culture of improvement and learning.
- Develop and use actionable HR metrics to provide insights and take a thoughtful data driven approach that help drive business decisions
- Develop and execute employee engagement strategy and plan that is integrated in all People programs and processes, and is deeply embedded in the business
- Hire and manage employee engagement specialist who will coordinate and drive high impact programs at scale
- Foster a climate of inclusion where diverse thoughts are freely shared and integrated to develop plans and solutions that are best suited to the circumstances
- Act as an internal consultant in the planning of learning and employee engagement initiatives working to achieve positive outcomes with measurable impact on the business
Skills and Experience:
- 18+ years of Learning and Development experience in roles of progressively increasing scope and in matrixed, high-growth, global organizations.
- A deep business acumen and the executional know how of building and growing businesses globally through the ongoing development and supports of its people.
- Ability to think strategically and develop and deliver systems, processes and programs that are elegantly simple yet effective with the willingness to be hands on.
- Team oriented consensus builder who understands how to achieve buy-in from diverse constituencies, building bridges and designing "win-win" solutions across a matrix management organization, and leverage the formal and informal organizational structure to assist in goal achievement.
- Proven, progressive experience and demonstrated effectiveness leading learning & development related initiatives and programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in facilitation/presentation. Captivating facilitator/storyteller. Exceptional people and communication skills with openness to ideas and feedback from others.
- Analytical and critical thinking with a metrics-driven approach to solutions and the ability to leverage analytics and insights to create compelling narratives for change to gain sponsorship.
- Strong project management and change management skills
- The ability to flourish in a rapidly changing organization and operate comfortably with ambiguity and complexity.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience is required with a preference for an advanced degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
