VP, Technical Program Management
Job Description
The Motional Technical Program Management team is seeking to hire an experienced Vice President of Technical Programs, as we develop our first commercial driverless robotaxi and create the vision and plan for next generation autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will lead a team of technical program managers and collaborate across the engineering org to deliver high-quality direction for our growing brand. Responsibilities :
- Manage and hire teams of Technical Program Managers (TPMs), providing TPM leaders with regular feedback and fostering a culture of learning, professional development and growth.
- Lead TPMs across multiple departments to ensure the delivery of projects sourced from engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to create and maintain roadmaps that communicate the strategic vision and prioritize engineering focus.
- Partner with engineering and program stakeholders to coordinate the delivery of quality, large-scale, and high performing services in line with product requirements.
- Along with the teams, develop, execute, and iterate the processes and workflows to communicate program progress and delivery risk for reporting at various levels of executive leadership; ultimately ensuring delivery of projects across the organization.
- Use knowledge of the overall architecture and workflow of the teams to help identify dependencies, potential risks, derive estimates, and keep teams accountable to initiative milestones.
Basic Qualifications :
- 10+ years of previous experience as a technical program manager and people leader.
- Masters degree in Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles or a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent field experience
- Experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary technical programs with competing priorities (cost, schedule, feasibility)
- Experience building and managing cross-functional teams
- Understanding of the software development life-cycle, common software concepts and committed to operational excellence
- Technical curiosity and interest in learning system architecture to better understand project dependencies and delivery complexity.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse set of technical and non-technical partners
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Experience in multi-level people management
