What We Do

First American is seeking VP of Engineering candidates to deliver world-class technology products that fuel the residential real estate industry. An ideal candidate will have a mixture of strong technical and leadership skills to drive lasting change throughout the organization. As the VP of Engineering, your primary responsibility will be to establish a culture of engineering excellence, while leading multiple engineering teams to deliver on key strategic initiatives that drive growth for our business.

What You'll Do

• You will drive strategic initiatives from the engineering perspective.
• You will influence the overall technology strategy and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with the executive leadership team on strategic decision-making.
• Help define and drive world-class standards of software development, quality, testing, deployment, and infrastructure.
• Curation of a world-class developer experience and engineering infrastructure.
• Lead a diverse team including architects and engineers.
• Be committed to building and nurturing a diverse and inclusive engineering team.

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years of experience building large-scale software applications with high volume transactions.
• Successful in building inspired engineering teams that build and run high-performance modern web apps, microservices, and performant data pipelines that use AWS technologies.
• Experience with modern engineering practices.
• Experience scaling engineering teams and hiring strong engineers.
• Deep understanding of modern cloud development, monolithic and services-based architectures, CI / CD, monitoring and testing.
• Experience building a high-velocity, metrics-driven engineering organization that is closely aligned with business goals.
• Experience building out new teams as our organization scales including QA, DevOps / SRE, and others.
• Commitment to fair hiring and building a diverse, inclusive team.
• BS in Computer Science or related technical field or master's degree preferred but not required.

Pay Range: $240,000 - $280,000 annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
