We are looking for a talented VPI Systems Associate to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for our BUSINESS SEGMENT in Mineral Point , WI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Under minimal supervision and in accordance with Cummins Delegation of Authority Policy, determines the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule or independent customer demand.
  • Expedites purchase or production orders as appropriate.
  • Performs quality checks on material planning master data (lead time, order quantities, etc.) taking action to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain Planners across the organization to reposition excess inventory to locations with supporting demand.
  • Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet business goals.
  • Manages part change requests and ramp up / ramp down activities to meet demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Master Supply Scheduling - Establishes and maintains a valid Master Production Schedule for a family of products, which meets customer's expectations and requirements while maximizing operational efficiency; validates procurement scheduling, production scheduling, and replenishment planning are aligned to manufacturing and assembly assets for conversion.
  • Materials Planning Parameters - Aligns parameters (minimum order quantity, multiple order quantity, lead time, part cost, etc.) to balance the supply and demand plans while stabilizing the supply chain; runs changes to parameter settings in the planning environment and analyzes the impact to customer delivery and inventory.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

College, University or equivalent degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience in an equivalent field such as materials planning, production scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control.

Confirms part availability and addresses material issues by working with stakeholders.

Creates work-in-process jobs for production and prototype assemblies.

Works with Program Managers and other external stakeholders to create, push/pull builds.

Applies manufacturing knowledge in scheduling, sequencing, and prioritizing sample shop builds

Prioritizes builds and kits based on cross-functional inputs and shortages.

Voice of VPI Scheduling in quality, safety, operations, manufacturing, and material flow discussions.

Voice of CMP Sample shop in Central readiness meetings for all programs.

Ensures adherence to Lean manufacturing principles for VPI builds.

Actively participates in continuous improvement efforts in VPI processes.

Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet business goals.

Comfortable working within complete information and problem-solve in order to meet customer requirement.

Complies with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations.

Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor/Manager.

Receive and reconcile invoices within Ariba

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
