Who You'll Work With:

The candidate will work closely with senior management, line managers, and staff to identify and track both current and emerging risks, business continuity planning and improving the control functions across Private Wealth, and error management coordination.

The Private Client Risk manager provides risk management support to various stakeholders within Private Wealth, including PC Sales, PC Equity PMG, Alternatives Operations, and PC operations. The Risk team is involved in all aspects of risk mitigation for the life cycle of the client experience.

The role provides risk management support for the Private Wealth business utilizing proprietary and vendor applications to assist in identifying and addressing business risks and errors.

What You'll Do:

  • Partnering with PC Sales, Infrastructure Ops, and PC Equity PMG to recognize and manage current and emerging risks
  • Monthly error meetings with Alternative Ops, PC Sales, PC Equity PMG and PC IMO to discuss each error and what controls are needed
  • Quarterly governance meetings with Senior Management to discuss current risk landscape, errors, and emerging risks.
  • Discuss errors at time of submission to determine what actions are needed and how best to correct. This involves daily communication with PC Sales and PC Equity PMG
  • Error coordinator for Private Client - majority of errors are submitted by PC Sales and PC Equity PMG. Guidance on how to cover exposure and preventative measures that may need to be instituted.
  • Escalation to Senior Management for high dollar errors - smaller subset of discussions with the Private Wealth COO regarding error details and Advisor charges.
  • New product review - process flow, process documentation, control environment, etc.
  • Fee reimbursement processing - quarterly process to offset fees with credits.
  • Engaging Legal in certain error situations to better understand what level of liability the firm may have
  • Business Continuity Management (BCM) liaison between the business and central BCM team - Business Impact Analysis and any ad hoc items that may come up, i.e. weather related, pandemic related
  • Lead focused risk reviews to improve operating environment.

The role allows the candidate to partner with different teams within Private Wealth and the wider AB organization. Partnering with numerous teams across the firm provides the candidate with exposure to what functions those departments execute, but also provides the candidate with an opportunity to develop relationships across the firm that are beneficial when executing their day to day responsibilities.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a Nashville based Operational Risk Manager to join our Private Wealth Risk Team in Wealth Management Infrastructure.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior experience in Private Wealth management (3-5 years a plus)
