V&V Engineer II
Job Description
Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Verification & Validation Engineer II to join our team in Waltham, MA. The V&V group includes cross-functional team members that span an array of engineering disciplines. As a V&V Engineer II you will contribute to all aspects of verification and validation testing, and medical device design controls.Â
Vicarious Surgical’s novel approach to surgery uses a combination of proprietary, human-like surgical robots and virtual reality to transport surgeons inside the patient when performing minimally invasive surgery.Â

Additional specific responsibilities are listed below.
Responsibilities
- Support early testing and assist product teams in determining key findings and collaborate to enhance the overall system’s design.
- Work with Product Engineering teams to develop Test Cases and Protocols for Design Verification and Validation.
- Support developing formal Verification and Validation strategies, methods, and tests.
- Develop Test Methods and perform validation on all Test Methods (TMV) where required by process.
- Support the verification approach and test planning efforts for the system and co-ordinate with subsystem test leads.
- Develop verification and validation of test tools where required and in advance of formal DV schedules.
- Execute verification and validation tasks according to development lifecycle timelines.
- Write reports and log issues for executed verification tests.
- Support technical reviews and participate in system design reviews.
About You
- 2+ years of Verification and/or Validation experience in the medical device industry, preferably focusing on complex medical device capital equipment.
- Minimum of a B.S. in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or comparable field.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to design Test Fixtures using Solid Works.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of test engineering principles and scientific methods.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Statistics and statistical methods.
- Experience using the following software packages: Minitab, Jira, Jama, Arena PLM.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working on surgical/robotic systems including cadaver and/or porcine studies.
- Previous verification or validation experience in projects from early development through commercialization.
- Previous experience developing test automation systems and frameworks using tools such as National Instruments CVI or TestStand considered a plus.
