Job Description
Summary
The mission of the Wage and Hour Division (WHD) is to promote and achieve compliance with labor standards to protect and enhance the welfare of the nation's workforce.
Wage and Hour Technicians work in a District or Area Office and provide enforcement support to internal personnel, technical assistance to the general public, complaint resolution for employees and, investigative assistance to investigators.

Conditions of Employment
- Proficiency in Spanish language.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level or equivalent pay band, in the Federal Service.
Examples of specialized experience are as follows:
- Preparing written communication to summarize information;
- Responding to and/or resolving customer complaints;
- Assisting with interviews or investigations to gather data/information;
- Analyzing numerical data to identify discrepancies and/or perform mathematical calculations.
There is no educational substitution in lieu of specialized experience for this position

A driver's license is preferred. In addition to the normal office worksite, the position involves occasional visits to business establishments. If the employee does not possess a driver's license, they may be required to visit establishments using public transportation, ride shares, etc.
