Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Required to use safety equipment such as: safety shoes, gloves, aprons, safety glasses, goggles, hearing protectors, or any other safety equipment that will preclude personal injury.
- A pre-appointment and annual physical is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator certificate as required by organization.
- This position has been identified as being a Mission Essential Position.
- The position is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander.
- May be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, i.e., mandatory overtime; subject to recall to duty.
- Must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations.
Qualifications
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Warehousing and Stock Handling Worker (Fork Lift Operator)~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Warehouse and Stock Handling Worker (Forklift Operator) duties. I can receive store and issue supplies and compile stock record of items using a property accounting software. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent bending, stooping, reaching overhead, lifting and handling items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a warehouse area and occasionally outside at training sites Subject to cold, damp or hot weather conditions. Also exposed to possible injury from falling stock and mechanical equipment.
