Job Description

This role is responsible for supporting the Wealth Management (WM) business unit to strengthen, coordinate, and execute 2nd Line of Defense programs across Wealth Management as well as represent WM Control in Digitization efforts. This individual will be responsible for supporting the WM Control Team in developing, embedding and managing the frameworks, tools, and methodologies in line with enterprise policies and standards and regulatory expectations/requirements to both appropriately manage risk, help ensure appropriate controls are implemented, and enable the BU's financial objectives.

Under direction from the Wealth Management Control Strategy Manager:

2nd Line of Defense Program Implementation & Ownership

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Risk program owners and the business to define and build programs/functions, including appropriate roles and responsibilities across the lines of defense to support risk programs
  • Develop/maintain strong long-term working relationships with key business decision makers, risk program owners and subject matter experts, and externally with peer groups and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and manage operational processes, template reviews, and establish metrics and reporting (e.g., key risk indicators, key performance indicators (KPIs)) to monitor overall performance against agreed upon milestones, risk thresholds, service level agreements and/or other measurement criteria
  • Develop and ensure adherence to a consistent governance process
  • Understand, compile, manage, and lead communication of required information for supplier performance reviews on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis including profiles, reports and scorecards as necessary
  • Support or perform recurring assessments to measure success against program expectations

Wealth Management Digitization Efforts

  • Participate in WM Digitization projects to develop and execute strategies that improve WM's overall control environment, increase partner and/or client efficiency, and gain productivity where possible
  • Identify risk and control considerations throughout the journey/change process
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Journey owners to help reduce risk / implement mitigating controls and ensure the business is properly engaged in digitization efforts
  • Support regular discussions with WM Digital Services to ensure that any issues or concerns are discussed, documented and appropriately mitigated prior to implementation

The successful partner will benefit from having:

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience working in risk, control, audit or related function at a large financial institution
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Risk, and/or other relevant field is highly preferred
  • Wealth Management experience a plus

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen with proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to direct the activities for multiple units within WM
  • Project Management skills
