Wealth Management Specialist, Data Governance Analyst
The Wealth Management Data Governance Analyst will act as an interface between business and IT to understand, document, and track business needs and business data requirements. The ideal candidate will display an exemplary level of personal interaction skills and will be leading partners from all company business units leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
This candidate will have extensive experience leading business data requirements, performing data analysis, and will have led or collaborated on the definition and adherence to data governance policies and procedures. They will be knowledgeable in reference data management, metadata management, data quality measurement and remediation, functional design, and system development processes.
Responsibilities:
• Ownership, elicitation and documentation of business data needs and business requirements; documenting standard operating procedures, data flows, and process flows for the organization to reference.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships, and keeping partners informed and engaged throughout the entire project lifecycle. Identify, analyze, define, and document detailed requirements to support project and business objectives.
• Performing data stewardship activities such as managing the business glossary and information governance catalog to identify line of business data ownership, facilitate reference data and master data management, and to drive a common business vocabulary.
• Presenting results of analysis and/or recommendations to all levels of the business and appropriate partner stakeholders.
• Participate in projects that examine completeness, validity, consistency and accuracy of data as it moves from source to reporting.
• Liaising between Business, Strategy and Technology teams in order to drive knowledge transfer and ensure quality solutions that deliver business results.
• Collaborating with Enterprise Data Services to define and align a line of business data governance operating model.
• Collaborating with Information Technology teams to determine and document business and technical data lineage.
• Performing statistical analysis, modeling, and other quantitative techniques in order to answer business questions, assess business issues and/or recommend courses of action to meet business objectives.
• Establishing scorecards and dashboards with process performance metrics, targets and triggers.
• Communicating action plans, status and priorities to appropriate partners.
• Leveraging knowledge of application features and functions to assess scope and impact of business needs.
• Assisting with performing user acceptance testing and ensuring the test results meet defined criteria in order to meet the business objectives.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in a client-focused Business Analysis role with at least 7 focused on data management.
• Customer focused with high quality standards.
• Strong customer facing and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to author a range of high-quality deliverables.
• Fundamental understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and industry best practices.
• Experienced in full lifecycle management software delivery projects both waterfall and agile.
• Proven track record of ability to identify and interpret business requirements into application requirements and IT solutions; ability to articulate complex application requirements and functionality to IT peers.
• Experience with Metadata management tools, particularly IBM Infosphere Business Glossary or Information Governance Catalog, is desired but not necessary.
