Web Designer

The Starknet Foundation is a non-profit organisation established to support the development of Starknet, a state-of-the-art layer 2 blockchain network built on top of Ethereum. Our mission is to unlock Ethereum’s scalability and efficiency, making decentralised applications more accessible and effective.

We're looking for an experienced Web Designer with a strong understanding of design principles and a passion for creating visually stunning and user-friendly web experiences, both on websites and web applications. As the Web Designer, you will be responsible for the design and layout of our interfaces, inform technical decisions, and play a crucial part in driving Starknet’s strategy and messaging across all of its web presence. 

Responsibilities:

• Design visually appealing sites and experiences for webpages and interfaces that align with our brand identity and business goals.

• Influence the way Starknet’s brand story is expressed through its web presence.

• Manage and contribute to agile end-to-end workflows.Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that drive the creative process forward through an iterative design approach.

• Own the relationship with developer agencies and partners, ensuring high-quality and highly-functional implementation of all designs.

• Be accountable for the proper functioning and maintenance of all Starknet’s web properties.

• Constantly monitor and identify opportunities to enhance Starknet’s web presence through user research, data analysis, and usability testing.

• Partner with colleagues across the organisation and proactively contribute ideas to achieve team goals and strategy.

• Stay updated with industry trends and competitor activities to inform and refine Starknet’s creative strategies and overall design systems.

• Collaborate closely with peer designers to evolve our visual language.

Requirements:

• A passion for web storytelling, and 5+ years of provable experience in web design.

• A keen interest in the web3 industry and its products.

• A strong portfolio that showcases all your web design work.

• Experience leading web design projects end-to-end through an iterative, design-first approach.

• Ability to translate high-level requirements into modern, intuitive, and intentionally architected web experiences.

• A sharp eye for clean and functional web design, with strong user interface design skills.

• Strong fundamental knowledge of formal design principles including color, typography, and layout.

• Clean and clear aesthetics optimized around modern design standards for developer tools and technology products.

• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge of WordPress, Webflow, HTML & CSS, or JavaScript is a huge plus.

• Experience taking initiative, working independently, actively resolving issues, and taking ownership of projects.

• Feel comfortable working on broadly defined concepts as well as executing narrowly defined deliverables.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, always changing environment.Experience working with distributed teams.
