Description
We are seeking a full-time Web Designer to join Franklin Electric's Digital Customer Experience (DCX) group. As a Web Designer in DCX, you will have direct influence on the success of our websites.
The Web Designer will craft web pages with accessibility, testing, and user analytics in mind. You work directly with our development team as well as our business stakeholders to improve the usability and attractiveness of our online offerings. Additionally, you will help manage the relationship with our business partners to ensure projects are successfully completed.

Key Responsibilities
Design
- Design UI for websites and web applications to support business requirements.
- Communicate how a design accomplishes a stated goal; able to explain design choices.
- "Design in code", directly in HTML to hand off to the development team.
- Good understanding of working with content management systems.
- Provides accurate estimates of the time required to complete design tasks.
- Produces quality design mockups for business review.
Project Management
- Participates as a resource on project led by others.
- Completes assigned project tasks on time and with high quality.
- May oversee website projects, aiming to develop project management skills.
Service Operation
- Responds to internal customers to resolve their technology problems.
- Enters and manages Incident and Service Request tickets in ServiceNow, IT Service Management Application.
- Occasionally provides off-hours support on evenings and weekends and participates in an on-call rotation as needed.
- Must maintain or exceed Service Level Agreements for Incident Resolution. This will be measured based on Incident Duration for the team.
- Analyzes Incident Tickets and performs root cause analysis to identify and prevent reoccurring problems.
Request and Change Management
- Ensures business continuity by recording all changes and requests in ServiceNow.
- Ensures changes are completed with proper documentation for SOX compliance.
- Reviews the forward schedule of changes for potential conflicts.
Performs other related duties as required.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent visual design skills.
- Design, code, and document to deliver business outcomes.
- Good understanding of search engine optimization principles.
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Communication - Delivers accurate, clear, and concise messages orally and/or in writing.
- Problem Solving - Uses a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem, determining the most likely cause by eliminating potential causes of a problem.
- Decision Making - Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; compares alternatives and makes timely decisions.
- Business Process Knowledge - Understand the process steps and purpose of the important business processes used by internal and external customers.
- Requirements Definition - Elicits and documents a clear, concise, and agreed set of user interface design requirements.
- Testing - Plans and facilitates validation activities to ensure a technology solution meets defined requirements.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in design, computer information systems, computer science, related degree, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- 2-3 years of related experience (preferred).
