Web Developer

Roadie, a UPS Company, is a crowdsourced delivery platform. Founded in 2014, Roadie works with consumers, small businesses and enterprises across virtually every industry to enable scheduled, same day and urgent delivery in passenger vehicles across the U.S.  With more than 200,000 drivers nationwide, Roadie reaches more than 20,000 zip codes – the largest local same-day delivery network in the nation. 

We’re looking for a Web Developer to join our growing Engineering team, building modern interfaces for the Roadie platform. You’ll play a key role in new development and product growth as we scale and optimize our existing technologies. Our ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver who is eager to learn and grow in their career. 

• Write clean, high-quality, maintainable, and performant code
• Collaborate with Roadie platform, product, and design and testing teams on the design and implementation of our product features
• Plan and execute on short-term and long-term engineering goals individually and within the greater technology team
• Work in a fast-paced environment where we are frequently iterating to support the needs of our users, enhancing our apps and redefining feature roadmaps
• Ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications by identifying bugs and solving problems

• 2 years demonstrated experience developing and delivering web experiences, with at least 1 year React experience
• Thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with loading data from APIs for rich single page web apps
• Experience with Agile software development practices
• A desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
• A willingness to admit what you don’t know, and learn what you need to learn quickly
• Experience with git version control and related branching strategies

• Samples of personal or professional front-end web development work
• A strong understanding of the React lifecycle, React hooks, and testing frameworks
• Experience with or knowledge of TypeScript
• Experience or understanding of styled components
• Experience with mobile-responsive user interfaces or Progressive Web App techniques
• Experience with continuous integration
• Experience working in a remote/distributed environment
