Web Developer - ColdFusion
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, upgrade, and maintain complex web-based applications and enhancements (often in a team setting) to meet specific client needs.
- Integrate web applications with a back-end SQL database.
- Produce fully functional programs writing clean, testable code.
- Manage and perform testing to ensure accuracy and proper performance
- Suggest new features to improve website navigation and operation, as well as collaborate with team members and other staff to continuously improve user experience.
- Coordinate the implementation of new or updated web-based user applications with the Database Administrator, Program Director, and other team members.
- Respond in a timely manner to reported problems and alerts; troubleshoot technical problems or problems related to changes in the IT environment.
- Author and edit technical documentation as needed.
- Complete ad hoc/ special projects at the request of the Program Director.
- Providing technical advice on website and related web tools to the Program Director and other team leaders and managers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of programming and SQL database administration experience.
- Experience developing applications and websites with ColdFusion/CFML, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML, and SQL programming techniques.
- VSCode, Dreamweaver or other IDE experience.
- Experience with backend SQL development.
- Daily work hours to support the Pacific Time Zone; 8 am - 4:30 pm PT weekdays.
- The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Department of Veterans Affairs or U.S. Federal Government experience.
- Large research organization experience, with an emphasis on healthcare.
- Familiarity with CommandBox and BitBucket
