Web Developer I, Contractor

We are looking for a talented web developer who has experience maintaining and modifying WordPress for our 30+ high-traffic websites with custom themes, plugins, and web services. What you'll do

You will play a vital role in our business by utilizing your experience on the web to enrich all of our web technologies. You will be responsible for:

• Maintaining, developing, and supporting our collection of high-traffic websites
• Monitoring our sites and services to meet uptime and performance goals
• Performing administrative maintenance of our WordPress instances
• Migrating sites from other platforms into our comprehensive WordPress environment
• Developing and maintaining WordPress plugins that extend the functionality of our sites
• Customizing and maintaining WordPress themes
• Development of rich media ads and creatives
• Utilizing your expertise as a web developer to propel the business forward

You can expect to operate in the following technologies on a day to day basis:

• WordPress
• PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• MySQL
• AWS
• Git

This role will have flexible on-call shifts in accordance with uptime goals.

Who you are

You are likely a talented programmer with strong problem-solving and communication skills. You also probably have some of the following skills and experience:

• 1-2 years of experience building applications and sites on the web
• Excellent understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Ability to read and write PHP. Experience with object-oriented programming is a plus.
• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
• Comfortable working with MySQL, importing and exporting data, and optimizing database queries
• Ability to work with RESTful APIs and data formats (JSON, XML)
• Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward
• Must be able to work a 2:30 pm IST to 11:30 pm IST shift.
