Web Developer/Web Designer (Hybrid)

BASIS Ed Scottsdale Office is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Website Designer/Developer!

The Website Designer/Developer serves as the primary contact for all aspects of BASIS Ed website(s), handling a range of responsibilities that may include web design and development, to ensure the websites are secure, functional, visually appealing, user-friendly, and consistently updated. This position is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days a week in person at our Scottdale, AZ office.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support and maintain company websites and other digital platforms using hypertext markup language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), JavaScript (JS), and the content management system (CMS).
• Build interactive web pages and online experiences that are cross-browser, cross-device compatible, and ADA-friendly.
• Develop the core front-end components of fast, scalable, web applications and websites.

• Conduct regular testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of websites, emails, and other digital platforms.
• Recommends changes and redesigns for existing internet properties to improve look, usability, and conversions
• Conveys branding cohesively across multiple web properties and meets established design standards
• Uses web design best practices and next-generation digital trends while maintaining a user-centered design focus
• Integrate various third-party applications to websites based on client needs and project scope (MailChimp, Constant Contact, Jot Form, etc.)

• Design and/or optimize graphics and visuals for websites while ensuring they are in line with client branding as well as best SEO practices
• Collaborates with the communications, marketing, and development teams to coordinate the design, development, integration, format design, and release of web content
• Implement on-page SEO site optimization including meta content, content body, header, title, etc. for improved search engine visibility
• Development of link building strategy
• Work with Project Managers and clients to identify requirements and project goals

Education and Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience.
• 3+ years designing, building, and managing WordPress websites and knowledge of WordPress best practices

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in digital marketing, advertising, and/or branding experience a strong plus.
• Mastery of WordPress, with custom coding ability.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a plus
• Strong design skills and ability to follow the branding guidelines from clients
• Experience with tight-turnaround times and the ability to handle multiple projects and communicate with clients and other departments
• High levels of self-motivation

• Ability to create new compelling and competent designs
• Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere
