Would you like to join a fast paced, fun-loving and diverse team? WP Engine's Web Experience team is looking for an energetic web designer who can work across many functions to improve the end-to-end customer experience across our portfolio of sites. Help us innovate the top brands in WordPress including WP Engine, Flywheel, Delicious Brains, Advanced Custom Fields, Local WP, StudioPress, Torque Magazine, and more.
As a web UX designer at WP Engine, you will help drive creative solutions to complex challenges while fostering brand guidelines. This team exists at the intersection where the business wants to go, what the customer actually needs, and the technical limitations to get it done. We are Customer Inspired, trying to reduce friction on our websites across all screen sizes. Our work is directly influential in buyer journeys, new signups, lead generation, sales pipelines, checkout flows, and customer upgrades. We are the conduit for how customers experience the brand and choose to trust us with their business.
The Day to Day

• Understand customer motivations, values, and anxieties through both qualitative and quantitative study.
• Conceptualize and build new experiences to test theories, optimize user flows, and improve user engagement.
• Permeate learnings throughout the organization to help acquisition teams make customer-informed decisions.
• Collaborate with other teams to scope projects around their business objectives.
• Create digital designs and prototypes from initial concepts and wireframes to final web-ready assets to support the developers.
• Champion consumer-centered design thinking, and enable other marketers with your UX expertise to support campaigns and product launches.
• Own and improve our design systems for the unique brands that we support.
• Work closely with developers to ensure the feasibility of your visual concepts and the fidelity of the final output.
• Embrace challenges and inspire new ways of thinking to ensure your design work exceeds expectations.
• Mentor other designers and guide them on their career path within WP Engine and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in digital marketing or agency (in-house or external).
• Strong digital portfolio showcasing UX strategy and conversion-centered design.
• Expert capabilities using design, layout, and prototyping software, specifically Figma.
• Experience documenting and improving a design system and web style guide.
• Ability to collect and use data to inform design decisions including surveys, engagement and flow analysis, interviews, message mining, and partnership with our User Research team.
• A keen understanding of user behavior as it relates to digital experiences and the user's expectations.
• Understanding of web architecture and responsive layouts.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Comfortable with the WordPress admin interface and editing abilities, specifically the Gutenberg block editor.
• Proven abilities to lead web design projects and present your solutions.
• Ability to write and edit HTML and CSS.

Base Salary Range
$96,000.00 - $144,000.00
We believe that compensation should be reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position nationwide. The actual base pay will vary based on various factors including job-related skills and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
