Half of Serotonin is the leading breakthrough marketing and communications partner for digital asset companies, working with the top businesses and entrepreneurs in the industry on brand positioning, media relations, content, growth marketing, and go-to-market strategy.

The other half of Serotonin is a web3 product studio. Responsible for creating two independent web3 companies already, Franklin and Mojito, we’re now working on a third. The Serotonin Platform, our current project, is a member-only community for web3’s leading founders, executives, and investors.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Software Engineer to work on our newest product, the Serotonin Platform. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in software development along with broad experience across other functional areas such as design, product, and data. A background in early stage startups and 0 to 1 product development is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of technologies from both web2 and web3, integrating them seamlessly into both our user experience and tech stack.
• Collaborate with other engineers to pick the best technologies, tools, and frameworks for our product.
• Help define new feature sets, choose implementation details, and set product direction as part of a high trust, high autonomy team.
• Help to grow the engineering team, through both formal processes such as hiring and performance management and informal processes such as technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the blockchain and cryptocurrency domains.
• Continuously improve the development process, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on early-stage web product development.
• You value having strong opinions, believe in ownership, and thrive in a high-velocity environment (without being a jerk about it).
• You’re comfortable with ambiguity and can make progress regardless.
• You know when accepting tech debt is the right choice and how to pay it down responsibly.
• You’ve worked with a variety of software development processes and you understand the strengths and weaknesses of each.
• You love emerging technologies, trends, and best practices and like to bring them into your work.
• You’re the best JS developer you know.
• Familiarity with Solidity and smart contracts is great, but not essential.
