Job Description

A Developer in the EDI Functional Development Group creates, maintains and supports EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) business translations that exchange electronic messages with internal Expeditors' systems, government agencies and with Expeditors' clients. Developers work in conjunction with Systems Analysts and Customer Integration Managers to produce the highest quality product for our customers.

Qualifications

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work on new and maintain existing EDI translations
• Code translations based on map specifications
• Fulfill testing requirements
• Ensure project deadlines are met
• Perform code reviews for other developers
• Follow guidelines and procedures for code installation
• Complete supporting file, directory, and communication setups
• Monitor all code installations
• Ensure WebMethods systems are operating successfully and efficiently
• Participate in supporting WebMethods translations

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

• Expertise of the WebMethods translator language
• Thorough understanding of the WebMethods system
• Ability to read EDI mapping specifications 

• Proficiency in EDI message formats, including ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML and flatfiles
• Ability to navigate Expeditors proprietary systems
• Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Understanding of database structures and data relationships
