This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home.

Ameritas is looking for aWell-Being Intern to assist in the operation and implementation of well-being events, associate education, communication and special projects to all associates across varying Ameritas locations and remote associates. The wellbeing intern will report directly to the Ameritas Wellbeing Consultant.

This intern position will begin in January 2024.

What you do

• Collaborate and assist the well-being networks at Ameritas to coordinating a variety of special events and initiatives, many of which may be virtual, for 2024-25
• Assist with aspects of program delivery such as reserving the conference rooms, coordinating with presenters, preparing handouts/materials and setting up webinars
• Assist to coordinate with internal and external partnerships on all well-being programs and services through website promotions, newsletter articles, table events, etc.
• Plan, implement and evaluate a minimum of two health/wellness educational programs/activities/events each quarter to associates to include:
• Lincoln Corporate Games
• Ameritas Cares: Get Active for a Cause
• Intranet Articles
• Webinars
• Ameritas Champion Programs
• Five to Thrive Engagement
• Virgin Pulse Administration
• Research, recommend, and implement well-being best practices
• Other duties and projects as assigned

What you bring

• Must be enrolled in a college level degree program -- associate or bachelor level.
  • Health Promotion, Wellness, Pre-Health Exercise, Science/Kinesiology or related health field majors preferred.
• Completion or expected completion of an academic health coaching course or equivalent OR Completion or expected completion of a nationally recognized certification program health coaching or health education focused program, such as ACE Health Coach or CHES
• Able to commit to a full year of work - part-time during the academic school year and full-time during the summer
  • PT includes 10-20 hours a week
  • FT includes 30-40 hours a week
• Experience and interest in the health/wellness field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to create and deliver presentations
• Strong organizational skills and exhibit the ability to work on multiple projects at a given time
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills
