Chevron is accepting online applications for the Well Conversion Coordinator position through September 13, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).

The well conversion coordinator role will be responsible to optimally deliver the artificial lift conversion program from an OE, cost and production standpoint for Midland Basin.

The focus of this position will be to lean the conversion processes including cross functional planning partnering with the Technical Teams, field operations, Rig Operations, FE, I&E and other organizations to ensure proper execution planning, cost management, production optimization, LPO management occur during the conversion processes. This includes MOCs, AFE/WBS generation, playbook and AL design, intervention planning including potential proactive interventions and other processes are streamlined for efficient operations.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Planning out execution of well conversions and design changes including ESP, Gas Lift, Rod Pump, Plunger-assisted Gas Lift.
  • Coordination with Operations, Technical, Facilities, Production Services, Rig Operations and Factory teams for optimal process and procurement management.

  • Facilitating business planning information for subsurface project and maintenance for Midland Basin and Artificial Lift Playbook costs and schedules for Mid-Continent Business Unit.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of work experience in upstream operations and/or well servicing.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Ability to work, motivate, and establish direction for the team. Strong communication and engagement skills to interact with a diverse set of stakeholders including technical team, rig operations, facilities engineering, operations, I&E support groups, leaders, asset development, etc. Preferred candidate has experience in mentoring and coaching and a strong focus on OC development.
  • Production Operations: Understand artificial lift systems including ESP, Gas Lift, Plunger, Rod Pump systems including SA&O, design, installation, operation, failure mechanisms and interventions. Able to mentor production engineers, operations, leadership, and factory organizations for optimal well reliability and optimization (WRO), LPO management and base decline mitigation. Knowledge of WRO and conversion processes.
  • Technical skills: Preferred candidate will have UCR experience and familiarity with factory workflows. Candidate will have expertise in some/all of the following: Expertise in leadership and operational guidance of completions, well construction, well operations including type curve delivery, frac hit recovery, flow assurance processes; Surface/subsurface land/mineral ownership, geology and geophysics RM and UCR workflows (including data analytics and cross-functional data integration), reservoir & production engineering, well work, and commercial contracts. Candidate will have solid understanding of subsurface elements as related to UCR well performance (reservoir first principles, landing strategies, completion BODs, vertical and lateral interference).

Knowledge of UP&O, playbook processes, capability to facilitate AL playbook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering.
  • 10+ years of work in both well servicing and upstream production operations along with 5+ years in shale and tight operations.
