About the Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will be working with colleagues from Elsevier's Technology organization. Working collaboratively, you'll be delivering shared solutions for infrastructure operations across our products and services. You will assist in the design, build and maintenance of application stacks for product teams working in this space.

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of an application team to build, maintain the right cloud architecture, balancing performance and resilience with cost.
  • Working within an Agile team, to help drive outcomes. High degree of autonomy.
  • Scoping of requirements and defining a delivery plan for infrastructure
  • Ongoing improvement of the operational maturity of teams. Adhering to architectural standards.

Requirements

  • Have expert level Windows Server administration skills.
  • Possess extensive scripting skills (Powershell, BASH, Python, or similar)
  • Provide Provisioning / Infrastructure as Code - skilled in use for Terraform (or similar Cloud Formation)
  • Use Display Configuration Management tools - Ansible, puppet or similar tools.
